Portmantea's Application

Recently named a royal colony after a summit with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Guslantis, the Royal Colony of Portmantea is going to be built as a almost separate entity of its mother country, with most decisions coming from the Portmantean Parliament, which is separate from the Guslant Congress, though we have been granted seats in the Congress. We do, however, acknowledge our Head of State as the Queen of Guslantis, and shall for years to come. We are very new to the international stage, and thus will join an organization we believe will bring us further into democracy, The Democratic Union. So, here is our basic information:

We, Leah Charles and Justin Hulme, swear to promote the ideals of peace, freedom and progress among the other nations of the North Pacific and beyond. By joining the Democratic Union, we understand our role to the region, and will act in such a way that will only benefit its future. We vow to stomp out the seeds of evil that only serve to restrict the values that the North Pacific treasures, and will weed out these seed in the hope that one day our proud virtues can grow prosperously.

As it is still a colony of Guslantis and Guslantis has a say in the Portmantean Parliament, we feel that Guslantis will use Portmantea to gain an extra vote in the Democratic Union. Syrixia will not endorse this application unless Portmantea becomes fully independent of Guslantis. Guslantis reserves the right whether to give Portmantea independence or not, however, and we encourage this decision of Parliament not to sway Guslantis. We are simply stating our opinions.

I will not be endorsing this application. Portmantea clearly is heavily tied to their mother country, and shows no signs of loosening that tie.
This does not mean that if the colony declares themselves independent of Guslantis I will approve of this application.

The United States of New Sekai won't supporting this application for an full membership due to The Royal Colony of Portmantea still under realm of The Monarchy of Guslantis. However we will be supporting this application for an observer membership. We only will supporting this application for an full membership, if The Royal Colony of Portmantea gain full independence from The Monarchy of Guslantis.
