Travel a certain distance in any direction, so the saying goes, and you'll find yourself lost. Travel even further and you'll get to a destination you hadn't even realised you were travelling to. Doesn't matter where you find yourself or where you're headed, you'll end up where you're meant to be eventually.
Some people are lucky enough to find themselves here, at this medium sized unremarkable tavern, deep in the countryside a good way away from the major thoroughfares between the great cities. Those who seek out the tavern are few, and the patrons almost always those who were heading elsewhere.
Not that the master of the house minds, though. Middle-aged, portly and genial, he has an ear for everyone's story and an uncanny ability to choose the perfect drink for the patron. The cook is skilled but lacks flair. The barmaids and barmen helpful but not prying. There's rooms upstairs for a fair price, a basement for those looking for a more secluded evening and a large patio for those who want the open sky above them as they sup.
All in all, a most acceptable but largely unremarkable place.
