Kannex

Under the center-right Liberal Party and Chancellor Hans Kreutzer, the Empire of Kannex began its forays into the international community, joining the North Pacific Treaty Organization and applying to participate in the Democratic Union. Both signified Kannex's desire to participate within the international community and its growing power in the region.
Although the nationalist wing of the Liberal Party fueled the drive for expansion of the navy, military spending remained moderate in this time as Kreutzer chose a softer foreign policy. Kannex's tacit support for pro-independence Rhuvish factions was instrumental in the establishment of the Free Republic of Rhuvanland. Economically, Kreutzer kept most welfare programs intact but otherwise took a hands-off approach to the economy.
Elections for the seats in next year's National Congress is now. Your vote will decide the victors in the swing province of Hankau. Hankau's capital Lohenstadt recently saw an economic slowdown as a significant portion of its heavy-machine factories are closing. Most notably, Lohenstadt's auto companies are outsourcing to other provinces and countries. Income inequality remains a thorny issue as the inner city districts of Lohenstadt seem to house poorer and darker-skinned inhabitants while the suburbs undergo gentrification.
Meet the parties.
On a national scale as well as locally in Hankau Province, there are four major parties running for Congressional seats.
The Liberal Party is headed by the incumbent Chancellor of the Empire, Hans Kreutzer.
The Democratic Party is led by Mr. Lorenz Amano.
The Communist Party is headed by Ms. Solana Leijon.
The Fatherland Front is led by Mr. Anton Makara.
