After the Revolution - OOC & Planning

Previously In Axla:

- The Bergmann-Dettweiler scandal leaked and both Governor Bergmann and Mrs. Dettweiler were forced to flee to the more remote areas of Axla.

- Riots broke out in Axla concerning the scandal, corrupt government, and other nationwide problems.

- The Executive Council and Federal Assembly decided to replace the current government with the monarchy, which was abolished circa 1901. A living descendant (Augustine Berr) of the last monarch, Queen Yvonne II, has stepped forward as a prominent candidate for the head of state under the name Queen Alix I of Axla.

- The Monarchy Party, who avidly support the installment of a monarchy, and the Constitution Party, who believe that Axla should simply rewrite its Constitution, are bitterly debating (and occasionally fighting) over the fate of Axla.
Eventually...

The two parties will end up dragging the nation into a civil war, one that may cause increased illegal immigration to Territorio di Nessuno. Other nations affected by this future war include Lausse and possibly Golfia. Western Axla will primarily house Constitutionalists, whereas the Eastern portion of the nation will be home to Monarchists. Eventually, Augustine Berr will take the throne as Alix I of Axla, but not after the military takes control of the nation via force for at least a month. The fate of the Constitution Party is unknown.
- Axla should become a monarchy, as it is totally corrupt otherwise.
- Axla should maintain strong relations with Lausse and Golfia.
- Axla should privatize all aspects of life, including medical care, education, et cetera.
- Axla should clamp down on the political freedoms pertaining to the minority.

- Axla should rewrite its Constitution, which is extremely weak as of now.
- Axla should abolish all relations with Lausse and Golfia.
- Axla should nationalize all aspects of life, including medical care, education, et cetera.
- Axla should increase the political freedoms pertaining to the minority.

Just wondering but how will Golfia be effected as they are not on the map and therefor not part of the continuity of TNP's RP

You probably shouldn't include Golfia.

On top of what LL said his posts are full of emoticons, are extremely vague, and tend to end stories much shorter than they should end. He has also godmodded here and there. He needs to read up on how to RP better; until then I strongly advise against his inclusion. It'll mess everything up.

Better to leave this open-ended, methinks.

And I second Syrixia. Golfia does not seem to know much about role-playing.

Valid point - he'll probably end up in the RP anyways with his Grand Duke's descendants trying to marry Augustine/Alix. However, he won't start out in the RP, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

Kannex:
Why not have the military seize power and rule for a few years as part of a junta?
Originally, the reason why the military was powerless was because the government, in the absence of a Governor, was unable to make use of the military due to both physical and political threats from both parties. However, I might change that now that you've pointed it out. After all, they've been able to work towards a monarchy.

In any given political situation, I'd say the military is the last institution to be 'powerless.' When civilian rule starts slipping, some interesting things start happening.

Anyway, what's in it for foreign countries? What's the point of our countries intervening in Axlan affairs?

Very true.

If you were to send troops for whatever reason, the area is rich in silicon and uranium. Furthermore, immigration throughout the region will likely rise, though most of it will be concentrated in Nessuno.
