GOVERNMENT NEWS

The Zetaboards Terms of Service Act has reached a majority of Senators voting "Aye" and is now merely waiting to be passed to the Grand Chancellor for signing into effect while the Prosecution Service Act faces a similar situation. These are likely to be the last gasp moves of the current government as nominations for the next election have now officially opened.

We are about to enter the next election cycle, this time we are certain to have a new Premier with DaveIronside having reached the two consecutive term limit. With voting due to start on the 12th April it is likely that the new government will see many new faces. We'll bring you the results and the new cabinet in our next update.

AETERNUM GETS VISITORS The People's Republic of Aeternum recently went through some uphevel and now having settled that are looking to rebuild. One step towards that has been inviting Dartfordia and Rokkenjima to visit to discuss opening up a limited number of Aeternumese cities to be placed under the administration of the Rokkenjiman and Dartfordian governments, creating a Special Administrative Region within Aeternum. While this move may bring calls of "Imperialism" from Rokkenjima's critics it is still to be seen how the talks go.

BIRTHDAYS AND CHRISTENINGS - The collaboration of six nations, three CSTO and three CIS has seen a new breed of Fast Frigate manufactured. Several Head's of State journeyed to Portworth in East Moreland to take part in the naming ceremony of the new vessels. Now the boats will be sailed to their home ports and several new versions manufactured by the international consortium of businesses. Following on from this King David III of East Moreland is hosting a party for his twins first birthday.

ACHKAERIN AND THE CSU The Cross Straits Union is the World's largest economic market and following the success of East Moreland negotiating a treaty with them their CIS ally Achkaerin is going one step further. By applying to to become a full member Achkaerin will become the first CIS member to try and be admitted. There is a possibility however that certain amendments and exceptions in various existing treaties may need to be made.

MUDDIED WATERS The military exercises continue in the "Big Blue Banana" that links Dauntal and Dijel's mainland. This has seen a Dartfordian and Rokkenjiman royal travel to Dijel to seek talks on how best to end the stand off. It is yet to be seen whether these talks will defuse the situation

THE INTERVIEW.....NO CYBER ATTACKS THOUGH The reclusive dictator of The United Socialist Republics of Zachachevania has permitted a news crew from Achkaerin to enter the nation and conduct a one to one interview. So far we've learnt that the chairman is " deeply concerned about our image". We are yet to see how the rest of the interview goes on.

ORSUS IBERIA COMEBACK Following several months of inward contemplation the nation of Orsus Iberia has invited nations to meet. The nation has reinstated it's former royal bloodline and King Ignacio III has invited leaders of the world to attend a festival to celebrate. Several nations have already RSVP'd.

RUGBY RIVALRY SETTLED....FOR NOW The CIS Confederations Cup reaches it's 3rd week with the biggest rugby game in Mundus played. East Moreland and Dijel have forged quiet a rivalry and the inaugeral game for the Heilat-Longe Shield saw East Moreland take the Shield after a 44-10 win. The tournament has two games left to play and is still wide open.

FORMULA MUNDUS IS BACK The nations motor sport championship has restarted with the first race of the season being the East Moreland Grand Prix. The race was won by Lewis Holbourn of Dartfordia racing for DartEm. With 16 races left in the season it is likely to be a season of twist and turns both on and off the track.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BEGINS The regions first club football competition has commenced with great excitement. The draw pits 32 teams from across Mundus in 8 mini leagues. Nations will be eagerly waiting to see how their teams do with Quinntopia, traditionally seen as the regions footballing powerhouse, hoping to regain its prestige following a poor world cup.




MEDIA ROUND UP

QUINNTOPIA ENTER MCUR ROW - Following Rokkenjima announcing a shift in trade policy by restricting certain types of trade with non signatories of the Mundus Convention on Universal Rights. Quinntopia is usually one of Rokkenjima's closest allies however Quinntopian leader Stersteraved-Sovetskie stated the policy was " wholly unfair".

SPACE ROBOTS - East Moreland company SmartWar have developed a small army of autonomous robots capable of forming small complex machines. In order to test them to their full potential they've sent 1000 of them to the Moon to see what happens.

RELIGIOUS RIOTS- Following the passing of anti-Catholic laws in Nueva Ardia riots have broken out. The government voted to impose the laws despite the Chancellery opposing the laws. The move is likely to see the nation come under pressure for its breaches of the MCUR, something which it also is trying to get itself out of.

DARTFORDIAN TRAIN NEWS - Its been a busy week for the Dartfordian rail industry. With several new services launched across the continent of Albion they have unveiled some unique services. These include a train service with a swimming pool, cinema and their own climate-controlled compartment. They have also cut prices to try and appeal to a wider audience.
