Ale City Times, Special Report:

King, PM Meet Nasanian King, Niilo Saikkonen, and his delegation!

Today was a special day in Ale city. The King and Prime Minister -- and his cabinet -- welcomed a delegation from Nasania. The day began early with the Nasanian King being welcomed to the Royal Palace. A special cultural parade was held, with representatives from all regions of DavidLand showcasing each region's unique identity. The Royal Army Band performed for the parties involved.

At 9:00, the new ambassadors from both nations met, marking the start of formal relations between our Kingdom and Nasania. Their first order of business was announcing lifting of several trade restrictions and commitments to increase investments between the two countries. The ambassador to Nasania, Scott Pleads, showed his Nasanian counterpart, Yoshitoki Matsumara, his new embassy at #10 Capital Street.

The King then took the Nasanian delegation on a tour across Ale city, they made stops at : the ancient Kings House, which served as the headquarters of the Ale Revolution that our city takes its name from, and they visited the renowned King's Theater, where a performance of ethnic and modern plays took place. The tour concluded at the National History Museum, where the Nasanian King learned about the turbulent beginnings of the Kingdom of DavidLand and about more recent history too.

Finally, the King and Prime Minister met with the King of Nasania, the Queen of Nasania, and other Nasanian officials. The meeting occurred at the Royal Palace. After the meeting, both Kings presented the highlights of the meeting in the Royal Botanical Garden. Both leaders highlighted the importance of a relationship built on a shared economic and political vision. The King of DavidLand hailed the Nasanian acceptance of a trade deal as the first of many steps the two Kingdoms would take. The Nasanian King said that the agreements also help militarily, by "laying the framework of industry and trust that any future alliance would need." Both parties repeatedly stressed that forming an alliance was their eventual goal, but that in the nearer term, increased cooperation could only help. These comments come amid a turbulent period across the North Pacific.

Tomorrow will see several other meeting and events. Most notably, Parliament will meet in the Hall of Lords to hear an address from the Nasanian King, and that evening a lavish state dinner will be hosted at Parliament Hall.

The Royal Delegation met with the CEOs and various heads of the major corporations in David Land to discuss the signing of agreements with the Nasanian government. The meeting was concluded with the signing of several contracts which the Nasanian Minister of Finance, Takeru Nakatsuka, said would build the Nasanian-David Land economic partnership and increase intercultural exchange. Hugh Rines, CEO of Ale City Aero-solutions, said that included in one of the agreements was “an exchange of technical staff who would help improve the quality of David Land's infrastructure and facilities.” Hayato Yamada, the Foreign Minister of Nasania who is accompanying the delegation, is hopeful that these agreements will add further stability to Nasania in the future, enriching the people and lessening the likelihood of reinstigation of hostilities with certain elements in the Nasanian politics.

Final meeting with King David and State Dinner
17:00, April 14. 2015

After finalizing economic details between Nasania and David Land business leaders, the Royal family paid a final, private visit to the King of David Land. The topic of discussion is much debated within both David Land and Nasanian Media, but it is believed to have centered on the prospects of international peace, order, and economic stability.

Finally at the end of the day, a formal banquet was held in Parliament Hall in which several delicacies from both nations were shared and enjoyed. Of particular note was the famous Nasanian Smoked Salmon, renowned the world over for its pink meat and exquisite taste; and King David's special brand of Chianti, grown only in the private Royal Vineyard. The banquet concluded with a serving of David Land's finest dish, the Buffalo.

It is hoped by the Constitutional Monarchy that socio-economic ties continue to strengthen after the visit until a formal alliance can be established between the two great nations. The royal delegation would like to thank all the people and officials of David Land for the warm-hearted welcome they received and wish them well and good fortune in future endeavors.

The nation recently underwent invasion and civil war, which his majesty willbe discussing in detail with the Syrixian Prime Minister. During the civil war, out of sympathy for our ally who was undergoing trifles similar to our own recent past, we supplied covert intelligence and sabotage efforts against the Nebulan forces. A fact which, out of national security concerns, the Nasanian government could not disclose at the time.

The Royal Delegation is pleased to finally visit this great and honorable nation in the North Pacific.

-THE BALAMB CHRONICLE-

syrixia.png

BREAKING- This morning, at around 8:00 AM, Nasanian Foreign Minister Hayato Yamada and Nasanian King Niilo Saikkonen, along with his Queen, arrived in Balamb, the second stop in Nasania's Regional Tour, along with other Nasanian officials. The Royal Delegation was greeted by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Culture Shaw Atlas, Deputy Prime Minister John Sirus, Minister of Homeland Security John Yse'qi, and Prime Minister Alfred Nursson. Around an hour later, Foreign Minister Yamada, King Saikkonen and Queen Saikkonen were taken on an aerial tour of Syrixia, seeing everything from the colossal churches of Manaan City to the tropical cities of Akanalfia Province, and of course Balamb, Syrixia's shining capital.

Near the beginning of the afternoon, at around 1:00 PM, the Royal Delegation received the rare privilege of witnessing a meeting of Syrixia's Parliament, concerning treatment of veterans. Parliament, thanks to the recent civil war, unanimously agreed to start a fund for veterans of war called the L.V.E.B. Fund. L.V.E.B. stands for the French expression "La vie est belle", or "Life is beautiful". This decision received much applause from the Nasanians.

At around 4:00 PM, a state dinner was held in the Grand Banquet Chamber in Parliament Hall, which ended an hour later, when speeches were given by King Niilo and Prime Minister Nursson. While we will be leaving the contents of King Niilo's speech for the Nasanian media to report on, we can provide a brief primer of Prime Minister Nursson's speech. The Prime Minister began his speech by once again welcoming the Nasanians and giving thanks that Syrixia could be in peace again and have its allies by its side. He then thanked Nasania for its assistance against Nebula during the Syrixian Civil War and talked about various subjects such as the quick rebuilding of the Syrixian economy and its regainment of its former and glorious pre-war state, as well as the beauty of Nasanian culture.

This led him to his next announcement, which sent the entire nation of Syrixia into a frenzy of ecstasy and anticipation: There will be a Nasanian-style matsuri festival tomorrow. The Balamb Chronicle is waiting to see what happens tomorrow, and we are sure it won't be a disappointment. The governments of Nasania and Syrixia have planned a tour of the Balamb Grand Atheneum, Syrixia's biggest museum, as well as shopping opportunities, a Nasanian folk tale showed to the public as a play, and a visit to the Balambar, Syrixia's most famous pub, for the Nasanian Royal Delegation.

We can't wait to see what happens next.

From the Office of His Royal Majesty: Visit to Syrixia
5SdS1tdl.jpg

The Royal delegation arrived in Syrixia yesterday and have been touring the sights of Syrixia, watched a session of parliament, and made a speech to parliament of which the transcript is found at the official government website here.

3948_04.jpg

Today the Royal delegation participated in a special matsuri to help heal the rift caused by the Syrixian Civil War, in which socialists rebelled over the legalization of multiple parties. The King and Queen, partaking in their role as holders of the heavenly mandate, began the festival with a procession to the local shrine in Nasaniatown, gathered the water, which was used to purify the people and grounds from profane influences, and invited the spirits to partake in the festival, to help clean the grounds. The festival stressed the importance of community, family, healing, and most of all purification.

With the sound of the gong, and the burning of prayers, the festival began. During the festival there were many sights to see. Many dancers had taken to the streets to showcase their talents. Loud music playing and shops opened up selling the best that the local merchants had to offer.

During the festival the Royal delegation visited the Balamb Grand Atheneum, which showcased many noteworthy events in Syrixian history, such as the transition from communism not too long ago.

Also during the festival in which delegation participated in shopping opportunities. Ambassador Hayato Yamada even went to an oracle, the contents of the meeting were not revealed, but he said it was overall auspicious.

At around 15:00 the dignitaries of both nations watched a play based on the investituture of Akira Okada, the first king of Nasania. According to legend, a powerful demon was terrorizing the land, eating people and demanding human sacrifices. Because of this situation, Heaven decided to appoint someone to reign in the monster, so they sent the Kitsune(multi-tailed fox) to find someone worthy of the position. Eventually she came upon a poor fisherman who was down on his luck, had lost his grandfather to the fox, but was very kind to all the people. She decided to give him three tests to pass, which he did admirably and hence he was commissioned. She gave him the necessary weapons, armor, and training to defeat the monster, but no further details. When he found the monster he was stunned to find out it was another Kitsune(he had never seen the fox). Apparently this fox, Kumiho, was the sister to the other, but she had become vengeful after being slighted by human beings at some point in the past, and was now unleashing her wrath on the world. He did battle with Kumiho for three days, but neither could gain the upper hand. He could not defeat Fox. He could not think of how to possibly defeat the fox, but then a novel idea came into his head. He decided to offer a truce to the fox. Kumiho was puzzled by this predicament and wondered what trick he was planning. He reasoned with her that since neither could overcome the other and both had problems maybe they should call it quits. Killing each other isn't going to undo the past. She agreed with the logic but how could she be certain that he keep his end of the bargain. They thought it over. “Hmm. Which would work. Hmm.” Eventually the Fox came up with an idea. They could trade hearts, this way they could insure that neither could attack each other. They also decided to cement their pact with a marriage and together they founded the first dynasty in Nasanian history.

The play was concluded and was greeted with applause from the audience, especially the Syrixians. It is believed the story is a metaphor for an inter-tribal conflict in the ancient past and was solved by a diplomatic marriage.

After the play, the delegation went to the local Balambar pub for refreshment and celebrate the final hours of the matsuri. The Nasanians had the finest Syrixian beverages and spent the next two hours discussing general affairs. The royal family made note that they're considering sending their children to Syrixia to further their studies. A suggestion that was greeted amicably by the Syrixian officials.

At 20:00 the delegation bid farewell to their friends and thanked the people of Syrixia for their exceptional hospitality. The Queen said that it is looking bright for the Syrixia-Nasania partnership and the Nasanians are looking forward to working with the Syrixia in the future, and wished the Syrixians a happy festival. The celebrations continued on until morning...

Ministry of Information

The Monarchy of Guslantis was honored to host Nasania's monarch to our beloved state for the country's regional tour. First on the agenda was a magnificent meeting with none other than the Chairwoman of NPTO and Minister of Human Services, Madam Leah Charles in her hometown of Augustus Town, GU. While the meeting was held within NPTO HQ, Leah Charles met with an MoI representative and had the following to say regarding the meeting:
Leah Charles:
I was thrilled to host a meeting with Hayato Yamada and King Saikkonen in the NPTO headquarters this morning. We discussed the recent pirate attacks on the strait of Guslantis and a potential rise of NPTO forces helping to cease these attacks through naval reinforcement near the areas of attack. Overall, both of them were quite amazing to talk to, and it will be an honor to meet talk to of them again.

After the meeting with Minister Charles, the delegation was flown aboard her personal helicopter, the Fleur to the capital city of East Pigletville. There, they were greeted by the rest of the Ministers at Guslantis' tallest building, the Thomas Building. The delegation was then given a tour of the building, stopping by the temporary headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Human Services, and Ministry of Finance, all of which had offices in West Pigletville. Last but not least, the delegation was able to meet with Minister Hall of Information, and his assistant, Alicia Burns.

To wrap up the first day, the delegation was invited to dine in the most expensive building in all of Guslantis, the Beier Manor. Previously owned by Minister Charles Beier, who later was revealed as a thief of Guslant taxes, the Beier Manor is valued at 4,000,000,000 Guslates. Greg Baldwin, who is the successor to Beier as Minister of Finance noted to the press before dinner:
Greg Baldwin:
If I had to guess the amount of Guslant taxes that Beier used to build this exquisite house, I'd have to say he used about ninety-five amount of the taxes we brought in. Guess it really doesn't matter now. He's gone and dead. However, with the Nasanians here, we had to use the best we had. Lobsters, crabs, steak, lasagna. I'm ready to eat just thinking about it. That remind me, have to go. No more questions, please.

On the second day, the delegation visited the Guslantis Space Center and got to meet with the cabinet and the monarch one more time. Nasania and its delegation are welcome again anytime in the future.
