FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

I can speak for myself and the entire Signoria of the Floregasque Republic when I say that I was shocked and appalled to receive an invitation from the nation of Cronaal to attend a public execution. The alleged crimes of Jok'mey dos Kahn, if true, certainly do not warrant such a heinous and barbarous response from a nation seeking to present itself as 'civilized'.

In fact, rather than reassuring the Floregasque Republic - and her financiers and economists - that Cronaal is over the worst of this latest rebellion, this news has only served to reassure us that further human rights abuses are to come in Cronaal, and that residents of the state have no recourse from the lawlessness and brutality that has enveloped it. I cannot imagine the terror that the common people of Cronaal feel - stuck choosing between rebels fighting a failing state and the last remnants of the same state's government, who, as this recent announcement shows, do not shy away from using the same brutal methods against their enemies.

How many other insurgents have been executed publicly that the international community has not heard about? How many other people have been killed before the Cronaal government could issue invitations to foreign governments to watch their deaths? No matter how elegant the letterhead or thick the paper, the invitation that arrived on my desk this morning clearly comes from a failing state that is losing the rule of law over its own territory and turning to inhumane and brutal methods to suppress dissent and outrage.

How much money is being spent on this sick revelry that could be spent on rehabilitating this war-torn nation? How many officials, Cronaali or otherwise, are attending this display of the worst traits of human nature - eating and celebrating while untold others die at the hands of a failed state?

The Republic of Floresque condemns this public display in the harshest terms. We ask that any nations with the same feelings as ours join us in this condemnation, and boycott this hedonistic display of revenge and violence.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: An open letter personally from Negus Dagmäwi Minilik

It is with the utmost disgust and abhorrence that today I reject the invitation from Cronaal to attend the public execution of one of their own countrymen. Funkadelia gladly stands with the Floregasque Republic, and, I should hope, the rest of the international community in rejecting such a dastardly notion. Publicly executing someone is a terrible enough occurrence, but the fact that it has been made a spectacle for international attention and revelry makes it worse by one thousand-fold.

Public executions were phased out in Funkadelia during the eighteenth century, and execution as a whole was banned as a legal penalty thirty years ago. Funkadelia, her government, and her people now view the vile act of a stately infringement of one's right to live as a disgusting embarrassment to the Earth, and to Heaven. We are utterly disappointed that such a thing is occurring at the level of pomp that it is receiving. I also, personally, find it ironic that the individual whose death is scheduled to be put on display is accused, and not proven of, committing human rights violations, while the nation purportedly administering justice is committing one themselves with this act.

It is with contempt that I formally refuse the invitation sent by the nation of Cronaal to our Empire, and condemn the actions to occur therein. Not myself, nor any members of the Royal House, nor any representatives of the Funkadelian Government will be in attendance or even in the nation of Cronaal for the foreseeable future.

Signed,

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: From the Desk of the Chancellor

The Malvadian government is appalled by the invitation from Cronaal to attend a public international execution and we are disgusted that nations are actually sending representatives and leaders to the event. Members of the Democratic Union and the North Pacific Treaty Organization, who are sworn to promote democracy, stability, and peace, have decided to attend such a terrible event instead of condemning it as they should. The Malvadian government wishes to express full agreement and solidarity with Funkadelia and the Floregasque Republic. We are glad to see other nations expressing their disgust and shock over such an event.

Both sides in this Cronaali conflict have been accused of terrible crimes against humanity. The rebels have decided to execute their former Vilsuun for his alleged crimes, without a trial or an appeal. The execution of this man on its own would be an insult to the rights of a person. This public execution is meant purely for the humiliation of the Vilsuun and should be halted at once.

The Malvadian government wishes to note that a previously enacted embargo upon Cronaal will be renewed until further notice. Our government will be considering further action of the execution continues as scheduled. If the new leaders of Cronaal are willing to back down, the Malvadian government will be more than happy to set up an independent tribunal to assess crimes committed by both sides in this conflict. We hope that the Cronaali government will see reason.

Signed,

Alistair Minerva
Chancellor

If you're Cronaal, don't read this plox. :D

(OOC: Shhhhh. Guys. Don't worry about it. I wouldn't send people JUST to watch an execution; that's just heinous. Just watch the Execution RP Thread. I assure you, it's going to get much better for you all. Oh, and don't tell Cronaal.)

(OOC: This involves my nation, so I'm going to read the thread and all posts within. You dummy.)

As you well know, the only attendant from Kalti who shall be attending the Daerr'gul Katil'ne dise Kahn event is Minister Issac Laux of our Department of Foreign Affairs. While it is true that he is one of the Council members he only represents 1/10th of the Council's interests. Minister Laux has been given permission by the Unified Castelli Parliament and the Council to attend this event and report back to the Kaltian Estate on what further measures must be taken by the Confederation of Kalti.

From the office of the Prime Minister

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

I was both shocked and dismayed to have received an invitation to attend this travesty of justice that the late government of Cronaal intends to carry out. I was further dismayed to be informed that a member of my Government had accepted it.

Defense Minister Helmine has repeatedly embarrassed this Government with his gross behaviour, mismanagement, and general misconduct. This is the last straw. Mr. Helmine has been dismissed from the Executive Council by His Majesty.

The Government of Plembobria condemns these rebels. No civilized polity engages in these barbarous acts of perfidy which marre the reputation of the late Cronaali Government. They have destroyed their own nation. They have no right to administer "justice" when the blood of the innocent is on their hands. We urge these rebels to cancel the execution, and try the former Vilsuun as war criminal, in a civilized court, according to civilized laws.

As Prime Minister I assure that no one representing the Government of Plembobria will attend this event. We join the leaders of Floresque, Funkadelia, and Malvad in rejecting this invitation, and urge the other attendees to do the same.

Signed,

I would agree, this is sort of what is happening with us over in Syrixia. Parliament is not interested in seeing this execution, nor is the Executive Cabinet. Our government is, however, interested in learning about the workings of the rebel-run government and seeing if the people of Cronaal who have survived the Civil War are happy with it.

As Kalti has pointed out, we are not going to this event for pleasure but instead to learn about the nation of Cronaal post-war and to figure out what to do next.

I should note, however, I do sympathize with Floresque, Plembobria and others in saying a public execution is barbarous, and that Jok'mey is tried in court, as well as his brother Nisrelle-vache, as they have both committed atrocities.

I also recommend that this court not be Cronaali as there is a risk of bias, and that we bring this to the international, regional North Pacific Court.m(OOC: Not in an actual court thread but in an RP, we can have a justice participate or something.)

Thus, to sum it all up, Syrixia and Kalti are going to Cronaal to figure out what to do next. I am not sure what the other nations who are attending are there for but I sincerely hope they are going for the same purpose we are. I also recommend both Kahn brothers are tried in an international court for their actions, and this court be unbiased, fair and impartial.

-John Sirus
Deputy Prime Minister of Syrixia

While it is true that I've been given permission to attend the event in Cronaal, I am in no way bound to attend. By going however, it will give the Council a much greater insight on how the Confederation should act in the future. That and I personally disagree with the execution of Jok'mey dos Kahn due to the trial being carried out by his brother and thus having an element of bias surrounding it. My personal recommendation is that both Jok'mey and his brother be brought forth before an international tribunal and tried for crimes against humanity and war crimes.

-A MESSAGE FROM THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF SYRIXIA-

It is with a high heart that Syrixia announces both it and Guslantis have revoked their admission to the execution. For more information, read the Guslant communicate over in the invitation thread. We would like to see an international initiative working to try Jok'mey and Nisrelle-vache for their crimes. Syrixia condemns the Kahn brothers as they have both committed atrocities via biological experimentation-genocide in Anchor and excessive brutality/illegal weapons use respectively. From our point of view, the Eknorve Civil War is OVER. It is time for the corrupt Kahn brothers to be brought before a judiciary and receive consequences for their DESPICABLE actions.

A new thread pertaining to this will be set up soon.

Sincerely,
Alfred Nursson, Prime Minister, Syrixia
