ec-seal.png

This Special Election, The North Pacific will be electing a Speaker to serve until the next election in May. Any Regional Assembly member who has been a member for the last 15 days (since February 3, 2015) is eligible to run for these offices. Loss of Regional Assembly membership before the conclusion of this election will also result in loss of eligibility to run for any office during this election.

To run, one must either accept a nomination or declare candidacy in this thread. To withdraw from running, one must post a withdrawal of candidacy in this thread.

Acceptances of nominations, declarations of candidacy, and withdrawals of candidacy posted outside this thread will be discounted. Acceptance of a nomination is understood to also constitute declaration of candidacy even if no nomination has been made. Acceptances of nominations, declarations of candidacy, and withdrawals of candidacy must be posted during the candidacy declaration period to be valid. The candidacy declaration period is from (time=1424184308) (your forum time) to (time=1424616308) (your forum time). Voting will be approximately from (time=1424616308) (your forum time) to (time=1425048308) (your forum time).

This topic is intended for nominations, acceptances of nominations, declarations of candidacy, and withdrawals of candidacy; it may not be used for campaigning. Please keep in mind that lying about the election is election fraud, and that lying for any purpose is fraud.

Election Commissioners: SillyString and Gracius Maximus

I second Andrew, Elegarth, Zyvetskistaahn and Tomb

I thank everyone for my nomination, however, I cannot accept it at this time due to my position as Home Affairs minister and the responsibilities that I have in the position. I do thank everyone for the nomination again. But I must respectfully decline.

~ Tomb

I thank those of you who have nominated me, but at this time, due to my responsibilities in other regions, would not be able to perform properly for the Regional Assembly as head speaker, and hence must reject them.

I'd like to tell any speaker that gets elected that should they wish me to continue as Deputy Speaker, I'll be more than willing.

I must decline, I do not think I have been active enough as a legislator to run for this position. But I thank you for the nomination, it means alot to me :)

I believe that I have been a citizen long enough to be a candidate, could one of the election commissioners verify this for me? I am not declaring my candidacy if I have been a citizen long enough, I am just asking in case I do decide to run.

You were made a citizen on the 7th, after the cut off date of the 3rd to be able to run.

I want to make clear what I posted in the Delegate special elections nominations thread, I will not accept any nominations, or stand as a candidate, for any elective office in TNP now or in the future.

Thank you.

Thank you for this information.

I do not believe you were nominated, therefore your comment is unnecessary and unwarranted. In the future, please try to keep commentary that is not germane to the specific election taking place limited.

Nominations are now closed. Again, apologies from The Voting Booth regarding the timing of this closure. Unfortunately, certain days are not conducive to make-believe.
