The Kingdom of Plembobria is a constitutional monarchy located in the North Pacific, bordering Axeia to the north and Flutiestan to the west. Plembobria is made up of ten provinces and a capital district.
Plembobria is a free country, with several rights guaranteed by its constitution, the Kingdom ranks in the top 5% in the world for most extensive civil rights. Plembobria is a member of the Democratic Union.
History
The land that is now Plembobria was first occupied by Axeia, but apparently they got bored and moved on to the north west. There are still old maps lurking in the North Pacific cartographer's office that show Axeia controlling that land.
The only people left behind were a few forest-dwellers running a tarsier reserve. But the land wouldn't stay uninhabited for long. Misfits and outcasts from all over The North Pacific flocked to this vacant land, seeking a place where they could be themselves.
One day, two wise and benevolent leaders – Egbert Schlekenbakker, and Robert Upey, Senior – arrived on the shore. By now the people had divided themselves into tribes. This delightful duo divided each tribe into its own province, except for the Plinkens, who became two – West Plinkenshire, and East Plinkenshire. Bob became chief of the Crilalians, and agreed to allow Egbert to become king, as long as the Crilalians would have local autonomy and a democratic government. Egbert agreed. He signed his first Edict, The Act of Settlement, which established the Kingdom, and made him the King.
Everything went on fine until King Tozian I ascended to the throne. He banned elections in all of Plembobria, dissolved the Crilalian government declaring that only a governor appointed him was fit to rule. The Crilalians started to protest. The King refused to listen, so they did something very tricksey: they waited until the Pyrandian army (which would have been loyal to the King) was out on assignment with the North Pacific Army. Then, with little resistance they pounced on Rethel like a cat on a mouse (a few people sneezed) and forced the King to sign a new constitution. A new democracy was born.
The Monarchy still exists, but the King is required to abide by the will of the Prime Minister. The current Prime Minister is Ivan Nelson from the Conservative Alliance. The CA and the Monarchy generally get along.
Government
The Royal Government of Plembobria, commonly referred to as the Plembobrian Government is the central government of the Kingdom of Plembobria.
The Monarchy

The Monarch, currently King Tozian I, is the head of state, but not the head of government. Executive authority lies with the King, but is exercised under the advice of the Executive Council. The King has the power to dissolve Parliament and legislate until a new Parliament is elected.
The Executive Council
The government is led by the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister his cabinet constitute the Executive Council. The current Prime Minister is Ivan Nelson. Parliament may remove the current Executive Council by a vote of no confidence.

Parliament
The Constitution established Parliament as the legislative branch of the new constitutional government. Members of the Cabinet are also members of Parliament, and are accountable to it. Parliament is composed of two houses: the Senate and the House of Commons. Both houses are made up of members of four parties: The Revolutionary Democratic Party (RDP), the Conservative Alliance (CA), the Socialist Front (SF), and the Libertarian Party (LP). The CA has the largest amount of seats in both houses. No single party has a majority in either house. Parliament meets in Democracy Hall in Rethel.
The Judicature
Chapter III, Section 1 of the Plembobrian constitution states that the judicial power "shall be vested in one High Court, and in inferior courts that Parliament may establish." The Courts tries all cases regarding the laws and the constitution.
The court is divided into eleven inferior courts; one for each province and the Capital District. The Supreme Court only hears cases after they have been heard by one of the inferior courts. The current chief justice is George Handel.
All judges in the Court are required to wear long powdered wigs.
Politics
Politics in Plembobria are dominated by two major parties and two minor parties. The two major parties are the Conservative Alliance and the Revolutionary Democratic Party. The minor parties are the Libertarian Party and the Socialist Front.
The RDP, which is generally regarded as the country's main center-left party, was formed in opposition to the immense power held by the Crown. The RDP officially states social democracy as its economic ideology. The RDP advocates a more open and democratized government. The party was the first to form a government in parliament, by forming a coalition with the Socialist Front. The RDP generally remains apathetic towards environmental issues.
The Conservative Alliance was founded in defense of the Monarchy. The CA states economic liberalism as its official economic ideology. The CA supports a more centralized government, however the party continues to evolve. The party is socially progressive. The CA presently controls the government with a coalition with the Libertarian Party.
Geography
The Kingdom is divided into ten provinces each with its own government, which gives the Kingdom a distinct element of federalism.

The northern provinces are quite pastoral. Approximately 40% of the land in Northelfrith is forest. There is widespread concern regarding deforestation in the north, but the government has paid little attention to this. The Kingdom still ranks rather high on the Environmental Beauty scale.

Demographics
The racial makeup of Plembobria is hard to identify, as it is traditional to marry outside of one's race. One of the major reasons of this is: much of the early population was either allergic to cats, or had very bad temper, so they married outside of their race to reduce the risk of these problems in their children. So the entire population is often lumped into one large ethnic group: Plembobrian.
Discordianism is the most followed religion, but there are several minority religions throughout the country. It is difficult to measure religious statistics, because Discordianism doesn't require its adherents to hold it as their only belief system. Many pure-bred Alunyans are Catholic. Freedom of religion is protected by the constitution of Plembobria.
Agriculture
The Kingdom's agricultural produce includes corn, wheat, cucumbers, and potatoes. Northelfrith and Mediglorn are well-known for their coffee production.
