Genuine question here. Since communism is based on the collective ownership of property and the means of production, distribution and exchange how can this work in a nationstates context?

The Communist Party is more of a people-loving proletariat-supporter, peace-advocating party; we operate like the DU but we're a party. We are active too, and can engage in RP about the topics you mentioned in the post I'm now replying to, as befits communism.

Plus, we have a secret plan that puts into effect all of those topics as well.

So stay tuned for that.

Narnia is conditionally admitted into the Communist Party, however as they support the state moreso than the people and are totalitarian, his/her posts shall be watched and if Narnia shows any signs of Stalinism he will be ejected.

Well, Communism would be easy to implement in TNP because we have no such thing as private property. We already belong to the state.

However, since we lack a proletariat and anyone doing anything resembling acts of economic production, we can be said to already be communists. Or, actually Collective Oligarchists. :P

It's a school thing, and it's not actually serious, but due to RL events, we have scheduled the Revolution for Wednesday. Unfortunately, we have done pretty much nothing in terms of planning what we will do during and after the Revolution. Could you help us out? What should we do first? Should we use the Communist Manifesto as our party manifesto, or draft our own, or condense Marx's manifesto, or what? And what do you think we should do in terms of propaganda (which is all-important for communist states)? And, once we assume control over the gifted education classroom, what policies should we enact? (By the way, our gifted ed teacher is cool with us proclaiming his room as a sovereign and independent communist state, so that won't be an issue. And most of the rest of my classmates would appreciate the joke, I think.)

As a new breed of communists, we should draft our own manifesto. One that better suits the needs of the proletariat. Our education shall be based on real matters. We shall perscribed the students with nothing but the truth... That includes anti-religion. Furthermore, anti-fascist propaganda would be recommended (U.S.S.R. VS Nazi Germany) for example. Or anything against the oppressive ruling-class. (Lenin & Trotsky VS Tsar Nicholas II)
 
OK. Sounds great. Here's the plan for the Revolution:
1) My teacher presents a brief presentation on Karl Marx for his philosophy unit.
2) I give a speech, announcing the Party and that it wishes to hold a referendum on the classroom's independence from the U.S., and trying to convince those who are not.
3) The referendum is held.
4) I count & announce the results. If a majority is not reached, numbers may have to be manipulated.
5) I give another speech, announcing the establishment of an independent communist republic.
6) Sign-up sheets for the Party are passed around, and I assume the Supreme Comradeship of the People's Republic.

Do you think it's good? Also, I want to follow the traditional communist route of not having religion, but in one of my speeches, God plays a prominent role. The first draft of the speech that I will deliver in step two is this:

My comrades, there is a matter about to be submitted to all of you. The fate of the world rests in your hands. You see, we have noticed a growing tension among both students and faculty, and also wish to have an excuse to overthrow capitalism. This tension has not been a passing matter, either. It has grown steadily for nine years, and now the pot comes to a boil. What are we to do? I, for one, say that we declare ourselves independent from the United States of America, and free ourselves from the dictatorship that is the (I Don't Want to Release the Name of My School District on the Internet, Where Anyone Can See It) School District!

Now, many say that we are weak; that we are unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a teacher shall be peering over every computer? Shall we gather strength by doing nothing? Shall we acquire the means of effective resistance by lying spinelessly on our backs and hugging the false phantom of hope, until our oppressors shall have bound us by hand and by foot? Comrades, we are not weak if we make a proper use of the means which we have in our power. Who has a say in who shall govern our every act? Those who govern must be held accountable! I say to you: there is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the halls of this very school! The Revolution is inevitable--and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come!

It is in vain to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, “Peace, peace!” But there is no peace. The Revolution is actually begun! The next wind that comes from the east will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brothers are already in the field of battle! Why do we sit here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

And, so, I declare unto all of you, unto this entire school, and unto all mankind, the existence of a Patrick Henry Communist Party. We shall liberate the masses. We shall break free from our oppression. We shall break free from our chains that bind us in slavery! We shall!

And, so, my comrades, this matter is of grave importance. Will you support liberty? Or will you support slavery? The matter is left entirely in your hands. Will you found the People’s Republic of Patrick?
My school is named after Patrick Henry, so I figured it would be a good idea to borrow from his "give me liberty or give me death" speech. However, there's a lot of talk about God and holiness - as you know, quite uncommunist - in the speech, which is fairly substantial to it. What do you think I should do?
 
If you're writing your own manifesto you're basically creating a denomination of Communism. Thus, there is no reason to exclude religion, your peers will forgive you.

Also, be sure to set up an office for your government and your generals, create a standing military, and a crew of workers. Be sure to have a border control team wherever the borders are, and be sure to "conquer" land once in a while.

That'd be cool, lol.
 
On religion: Well, I guess that is true.
On military: I'm trying to form a People's Army, but what purpose would it serve and how could I create one, considering that this state would be in the middle of a school, and considering that this is not a serious thing?
 
It would serve the purpose of asserting the recognition of your republic amongst the other students and faculty, as well as defending it, via intimidation.

That said, you need to get the best (and/or bulkiest) athletic guys for the military.
 
But the nerds are the only ones with a sense of humor that match this kind of thing. All I can think of the People's Army being is a ceremonial gig. I think I'll keep it that way.
 
As the former leader of a prominent Communist administration, I am failing to understand the application.

The State is the will and the vanguard of the people, and the Party is the vanguard of the state, which is in effect the vanguard of the people. If you do not support the people, you do not support the state. If you do not support the state, you do not support the people. Given this, doesn't this line contradict itself twice?

Since you are discussing ideologies. Here is a site you may find useful. It classifies ideologies by three core values: Liberty(Capitalists, Anarchists, Interactionists), Equality(Communists, Socialists, conflict theorists), and Order(Corporatists, Fascists, sociological functionalists). Also here are the collected works of Stalin and Mao. Traditional Communists usually placed a heavy emphasis on Equality with some Order mixed in. Liberty was the least preference.
