Greetings!

Egalotir

TNPer
Greetings, I am the president of the United Socialist States of Egalotir. We are a new nation that prides itself on democracy, freedom of speech, press, religion and assembly. We are economically strong and look to develop our technological base.

As you all know I have been bombarded by many telegrams, yet the one that seemed the most enticing is the one sent by HMS Unicorn. I like the idea of staying in the home nation, and seeing it is one with many people, I would look forward to joining the general assemblies, or possibly the Executive Staff.

Yet I am not sure what correct course of action to take. I have been advised to join the World Assembly. Why should I do so? As well, why should I stay here in the North Pacific? If I seek a position of power to make decisions, how does that occur. I would like a good level of role playing involved as well of course.

Thank you for you time.

Welcome to TNP!
To answer your questions, the World Assembly is the NS equivalent of the UN. If you join you can endorse nations and vote on resolutions. If you want a position if power join the Regional Assembly. It makes laws and such for the region. If you're in the Regional Assembly you can run for Delegate, Vice Delegate, and several other positions. You can also join the North Pacific Army and do R/D. And we also have role play in the role play thread. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask

I've read through about 15 of the FAQ, Ministry, etc threads and I love the set up here. I look forward to staying in the North Pacific. I also look forward to joining the regional assembly and beginning my political career.

Thank you, and I hope my time here will be well spent.

Welcome to the North Pacific!

You are free to join the Regional Assembly the Legislative body of TNP. To get your feet wet in regional politics.

Elections are held roughly every few months.

Judical - Court Justices and Attorney General in April, July, October, January

General Elections - Delegate, Vice Delegate, Speaker of the Assembly in May, August, November, Febuary

If someone gets mad and resigns or gets recalled then there will be a special election sooner.

(In order to run though you MUST be an RA member and accept your nomination or declare candidacy in the official nominations thread that gets made prior to an election)

You are free to join the executive staff and volunteer with the various ministries Culture, Communications, Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs.

You can volunteer for the NPA as a solider and defend TNP from potential attack or otherwise serve TNP intrests in demonstrating surpreme military might in operations abroad.

If you find you like the RA you can ask the speaker to become a deputy and assist in wrangling the Heathens and following procedures in the RA.

Really it is open ended. TNP is generally open to newcomers who wish to participate right away and encourages them to do so. It is really up to you what you want to do.

Cheers! And welcome again!

This has been very helpful thank you. I am going through the application for the RA, as well as looking at possible Executive Staff positions I might want to join. I want to be very involved and I do have experience in roleplaying, politics, geopolitics, etc.

Right now I am updating my nation's factbook to get more into the game. Here's a link if anyone want's an interesting read.

Cheers.

Just a gentle note (and this applies to a lot of people here):

When declaring your TNP nation on your forum, DO NOT put the title on there! That would mean simply "Egalotir" instead of "The United Socialist States of Egalotir". This is because of how nation links work on the NS site. This makes the life of a lot of people easier. Thanks!

I just noticed this myself, thank you and I have fixed it.
