Would you like to reopen nominations? <Yes | No >The constitution requires the Delegate and Vice Delegate to be elected by a majority vote. The Speaker is elected by a plurality vote. Abstentions do not count to determine a result. If no candidate receives a sufficient number of the votes cast, there will be a 5 day runoff vote beginning 2 days after this vote will have ended.

Important note: The Regional Assembly recently introduced a law (Legal Code, Chapter 4, Section 4.3, Clause 11) requiring the Election Commissioners to promptly announce private votes in the voting thread, including the candidate(s) the vote was cast for. For this reason, voters are strongly discouraged from announcing, as was past custom, that they have voted privately, as the subsequent public declaration by the Election Commissioners can potentially reveal how they voted.
Important note:The Regional Assembly has further adopted the option to reopen nominations (Legal Code, Chapter 4, Section 4.3, Clauses 12 to 16), which is presented as a separate question for each office up for election. A majority vote is necessary to force the reopening of nominations, and a second ballot, for that office.
