Description: Recognizing a persons right to own a firearm of reasonable strength

Noting that this human right is often intruded on

Seeking to help citizens protect themselves from those who wish to do them harm

Seeking to protect citizens from tyrannical governments

Mandates that all nations must allow citizens of who are deemed able to do so to own firearms

Recommends that all nations have laws to encourage safe use of firearms

Does not require member nations to allow assault rifles

It's proposals like this that make it hard for this ministry to provide an objective review of them. That said, we shall aspire to do so nonetheless

Basically what we have here is essentially an act requiring the government to allow all citizens access to firearms and ownership of firearms (with exception of assault rifles, but not SMGs, Shotguns, Rifles, Rocket Launchers etc... just not assault rifles) assuming the individual is deemed able to do so.

The debate has also suggested that this is also a human right, and argued that the end result is, if everyone has a gun, you're less likely to be killed...

Ministerial Suggestion;

The Ministry, weighting up any merits this proposal may have had, has little choice but to recommend a firm AGAINST vote on this act. Irrespective of anything else, this act has holes the size of mini vans in it and really can't be proposed as currently reads, or ever.
