IFV; Repeal Animal Protection Act

Hello %%NATION%%,
In order to further the World Assembly's mission and better represent what The North Pacific's World Assembly nations intend, my government's Ministry of WA Affairs has an "Information For Voters" program.

Current Resolution at Vote:

Summary:
This resolution would repeal GA Resolution #228, Animal Protection Act

Ministry of WA Affairs Review
by Minister [nation=short]Sovreignry North Pacific[/nation]

In reviewing this resolution, the Ministry concentrates on the arguments contained therein, and not the actual substance and content of the resolution it is intended to repeal.

This repeal contends that the target resolution does not adequately protect domestic animals and that the strict definitions do little or nothing to actually limit suffering, and it does not prohibit non-painful forms of abuse, like many forms of neglect.

The author also believes the target resolution is wrong in its provision granting permanent ownership to temporary or transitory caregivers and also believes that the author meant ancestor rather than descendant when defining an owner, to ensure the care of the children of a purchased animal.

The author also believes that the committee meeting times are too far apart for the committee to actually be effective, and believes that the scheduling should be better.

The Ministry recommends the following: We agree with the repeal author and urge voters to vote aye.

Final Note:
I govern my vote by how the regional members vote on the forum, so you can easily change it.
