Statement on the Coup of Osiris​

Some days ago, the former Pharaoh of Osiris, Treize Dreizehn (a.k.a. the Dourian Embassy), refused to hand over the Delegacy of Osiris to his legally elected successor, Pharaoh Cormac Stark. Instead, he gave control over his nation to Gatesville Inc, allowing the latter region to claim Osiris as their protectorate. The occupation of Osiris continued apace, with RMB posts by members of the legitimate government and the community of Osiris suppressed, many Osiran natives ejected and banned, and the Osiran flag replaced with Gatesville's.

The Equilism Commonwealth of Nations is founded upon the principles of national and regional sovereignty and self-determination, and it was with dismay and contempt that we condemned this heinous violation of the sovereignty and community of Osiris, our friend and treatied ally. The egregious disregard for the will of Osiran citizens that Dreizehn has shown by handing over control of his nation to a foreign occupier is a breach of the trust placed in all leaders of government, trust so central to all regional government.

In response to this violation, Equilism deployed the Equilism Army to assist in the liberation efforts and the installation of Cormac A Stark, the duly elected Pharaoh of Osiris, as Delegate. We also severed diplomatic ties with Gatesville in protest, and closed down their embassy in our region. However, recent evidence that has come to light indicating that Dreizehn deceived Gatesville, feeding them a pack of lies in order to convince them of the necessity of the occupation. Given their apparently unwitting role in this debacle, we will be reevaluating our decision to cut ties as more of the story becomes known.

We strongly encourage the release of the Osiran Delegacy to the legitimate Osiran Pharaoh as soon as possible, and for the restoration of the native community by unbanning those who have been wrongfully purged. Our forces will remain deployed in Osiris for the duration of the transition, until our friends no longer fear losing their region. We call upon all regions, inter-regional organizations and other military groups to likewise assist the legitimate government of Osiris in this endeavor.

Addendum​

Further developments overnight have made it clear that, although Gatesville was to some extent being deceived by Treize Dreizehn, they intend to maintain the occupation of Osiris. Equilism will not be reconsidering its termination of relations with Gatesville, and further, at the request of the Pharaoh, has begun the process of closing our embassy with Osiris until the region is back in the hands of its rightful and legitimate government.
