I notice that virtually no one ever, if ever, that is, frequents the SC chat on IRC. And considering that some of us never use IRC, could it be possible to establish a secure 'chat' function on the forum, only accessible through the SC section of the forum? IOW, create a private page with a live chat script?

That way, there's no need for IRC software or specialized software.
