Alman For Executive Council

Hello everyone! I'm running for the Executive Council in this coming election; specifically the Minister of Culture and Entertainment.

Experience
1. I have been the Deputy Minister of Culture and Entertainment in the North Pacific for the past two months, working with Kingborough to expand Role Playing in the North Pacific, construct the North Pacific's Christmas Festival, create a Welcome Private Message for new members to the forums, and format a number of different FAQs that have been sitting around for years.
2. I have been appointed recently as Minister of Entertainment for the British Isles and I have worked with a number of people on reform in the British Isles' entertainment section of their regional forums.
3. I have assisted in the construction of the Role Playing Community in the North Pacific and have three years of experience in NationStates.

Personality
1. I have cooperated with a number of people and have the proper experience in regards to Culture and Entertainment.
2. I have proven my willingness to work hard and as much as possible to help improve the North Pacific in any way I can.
3. I am a frequently sociable person who is open to any ideas and suggestions to help improve my work as much as possible.

Vision
If chosen to be the Minister of Culture and Entertainment, I plan to do the following:
1. Complete the transition of FAQs and expand on Role Playing FAQs available to read in the North Pacific.
2. Work with Role Players and the Ministry of Communications to make additions to the TNP Wire in the form of advertisements for different threads.
3. Continue the wonderful work of Kingborough in regards to assisting the North Pacific Role Playing Community in its growth.
4. Discuss the possibility of including a mentor program with the Delegate.

So that's what I have to offer. I hope that come this Council Election, you'll support me. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Alman For Excutive Council: Experience. Personality. Vision.

If it turned out that you were elected, but for whatever reason were put in a role besides MoC&E, would you accept the role, and how would you approach the other four positions? Could you also rank them in order of preference?

Hey Alvino!

Just wondering, your platform is very RP-centric. How would you go about encouraging other aspects of culture and entertainment?

Both of you have great questions! I do appreciate them very much.

Welsh Cowboy: If I was elected MoC&E, I would also seek to improve and expand upon the Forum Games and the General Discussion subforums in Out Of Character. I believe that Forum Games in general make up a very important part of our forums. However, there seems to be little discussion in the Real Life subforum. I would consider remedying that by creating a "Cultural Weekly" Newsletter in the Culture and Entertainment subforum. It would highlight hot threads not only in Role Playing, but in Forum Games, Blogs, and Real Life as well.

Crushing Our Enemies: In regards to the other four positions, I would rank them in the following order and do the following:
1. Minister of Communications: I would continue the work Romanoffia has done and cooperate with the Minister of Culture and Entertainment to create an Advertisement Campaign for different hot threads regarding Culture and Entertainment. I would also consider having more interviews and encourage the private media section of our forums to create diversity in the news.

2. Minister of Foreign Affairs: I have served as Chief of Foreign Affairs for a now defunct region known as Global Powers and am currently Minister of World Affairs for Venetia. If I became Minister of Foreign Affairs, I would work to establish closer ties with other regions in the form of festivals and treaties. I would also work to possibly make the Foreign Update Bi-weekly (with the Delegate's approval of course) so more articles submitted by our citizens could be approved.

3. Minister of World Assembly Affairs: Currently, we have a fundamental flaw where only five or six people sways the vote of a delegate with 450+ votes. This isn't about blame, but about lack of communication. I would work to spur active debate and would work to get the word out about World Assembly Affairs via a Regional Message Board Campaign. I believe it is important that people vote on these matters, especially if they are members of the WA.

4. Minister of Defense: I do not believe I would be a good person for this job. Although I have experience in regards to R/D Gameplay, I believe that there could be a better person to handle the Ministry of Defense. I greatly appreciate the work Kiwi and Scandigrad has done in the Military, and I believe there is nothing I could do to match their standards in this Ministry.

Thanks for the response...

Another question: Do you believe other commitments or positions in NS would impact you at all?

Great question and a very serious one.

I do not believe that other commitments will keep me from my duties in regards to the North Pacific. The North Pacific is my home and I would gladly resign from other positions if I felt they took too much of my time for the North Pacific.

If it seems like a cheesy answer, I apologize. I am truly being honest though, since I'm not technically a soulless husk of emptiness politician. :P

Some fantastic answers and I want to wish you the best of luck my friend.

As a note to other TNP residents who are trying to choose who to vote for: Alvino has been an active and vibrant new recruit of the NPA and I wholeheartedly vouch for his character, commitment and good humour. He has been a pleasure to work with.

Thank you very much Kiwi for your support. I hope that come the end of elections, we will be working together on the Executive Council. :)

Iro:
You were deputy
You claim that is important
Why does it help you?
As the Deputy Minister of Culture and Entertainment, I have worked closely with the current Minister of Culture and Entertainment. This experience has allowed me to show my work ethic and give hard evidence to show that I am truly serious about being a member of the Executive Council. I have had the pleasure of sitting in on the Cabinet and its meetings and working with other members of the Cabinet across the board on a number of different ideas (including the Christmas Festival and possible ideas for the TNP Wire). It also has allowed me to help work in a section of the Community that I feel is one of my strongest points.

I hope I have answered your question. If not, let me know and I'll try to elaborate further.

By the way, good luck in the election! :)

Eluvatar:
Why don't I have a telegrams sent box?

Will I ever have one?
...

[me]looks back and forth to ensure the Men in White aren't around.

...Okay folks. I'm going to let you know the truth of this question, right here, right now.

Eluvatar, the Administrators have seen your powers. They've seen how you could take a 1 and a 0 and make it into a giant robot Godzilla that could be unleashed to wreck havoc on Tokyo. They've seen how you've made a giant turtle robot that once shielded the Galapagos Islands from the Moon Nazis of Ambulon 4. You think they'd give you that kind of power so quickly? They're scared because of... the prophecy.

What prophecy you all ask? Well, the one in which one Coder will rise above the rest to challenge the Administrators... and succeed in doing so, thus bringing the End of Days for all but the most devout Turkey Sacrifices by a nightmarish hellstorm of falling cheese doodles and chess pieces.

Eluvatar, THIS is why you do not have a sent box. Until they can truly stop the prophecy... you won't have one.
