Hi there.

I'll keep this short and sweet.

I am interested in serving as Speaker.

I've been speaker before in various places and I have the experience and know how to get bills through debate and voted on in an efficient and timely manner. If elected I will make sure the RA runs smooth and efficiently.

I will now take questions.

Gaspo and Mcmasterdonia have had both their posts reported for flamebaiting. Knock it off please. I don't appreciate the government seemingly endorsing a persecution / mockery campaign against me because he lacks the patience to deal with socially awkward people properly.

Confidence? I'm not sure what you mean. I'm happy newcomers to the region decided to get involved in the electoral process :). If you're asking if that's what motivated me to run for Speaker, well no. I decided to run because I felt like giving it another chance.

I have experience being speaker. I am efficient and I can keep things orderly, personal beliefs aside. I know how to run things and I know the procedures necessary sir.

When should the legal code be updated after a vote in which a majority of aye/nay voters voted to adopt the proposal to amend it?

Worst Traits: I am persistent and extremely logical when it comes to understanding things. I may have some form of autism or Asperger's (not fully sure) so I have difficulties also in socialising with others.

Best Traits: I can be extremely professional, organised, and very detailed. Being extremely logical is also a good thing as it helps me try to rationalise things where possible. I have experience as a Speaker so I'm familiar with what the role entails.

Will you be removing people from the RA when there nation ceases to exist? Do you stand by your previous decision of refusing to remove yourself when your nation ceased to exist when you were last TNP Speaker?

I don't imply anything. If I didn't say it, I never mean it.

I'm being quite logical in my response. I feel I am very qualified to do the job necessary, and I don't see any detracting reason in this case why I shouldn't be voted on based on my merits.

No, and I had already stated I regretted the decision elsewhere when I last tried to run for Speaker.

Uh, you did say it. You might have copied and pasted, but for all intents and purposes, you used Mahaj's reply as your own words.
 
Oh man, I really love when in RL candidates are asked what their flaws are and they answer truthfully and completely. Yeah. Oh wait, they don't?! Because it is a stupid question. Here or in real life. Show me someone who can recite their laundry list of faults, and beyond that is willing to, and I will say congratulations on finding a convincingly human android. Either that or an extremely deluded person.

Further, so what if Govindia copied that verbatim from another candidate? Do you have a point beyond saying copy cat copy cat like a gradeschooler?

Imo, and don't burn me too over this, but I think the question was just testing a widely-accepted principle of office; that it is possible for the official to admit fault.

Some don't, and that's when their jobs, actions, and career begin to go awry. So what BW is asking, in effect, is to criticize yourself. Just the simple act of criticizing yourself lets others know that you won't be afraid to admit more important things while in office.

Here, I'll go. I have a slight overconfidence problem. I will not, at the beginning, be as able to see the possible ways my actions could be negative. And while that statement is true and might be a disadvantage, it shows the candidate's ability to analyze his own actions.

Just my thoughts. Continue.
 
If people scroll down to the bottom of the first page of this thread, I do actually admit my faults when I explain what my best and worst qualities are.

The point of the question is to determine critical thinking skills, confidence, and integrity. Anyone who says they have no flaws what-so-ever is obviously an arrogant dick you probably don't want to vote for, while someone who lists every little thing about themselves that might be perceived as a flaw might be too timid for the office they are running for.

Govindia's plagiarizing of a response shows a lack of willingness to reply to the question, a lack of creativity, and a lack of intellectual honesty. All my opinion, of course, DD, but don't pretend like the question is completely without any merit.
