Ever wondered what it would be like if the people in your NS nation woke up one day... and in the Capitol of the nation was a person who represented that nation?
Ever wondered if these "personifications" actually existed, what would they do? Would they spend their days relaxing and enjoying themselves? Would they be hard at work helping the government (or leading it) where it can? Or would it be stepping on the rights of the national populace, using them as playthings?
Ever wondered how these personifications would do talking and working (or fighting) with one another?
...No? Seriously? None of you thought of it? Well... okay. Then think of it now, because that's what this Role Play is all about!

FAQ:Q1: ...Seriously?
A1: Yes seriously.
Q2: Alright fine... elaborate?
A2: Personification of the Nation (TNP Edition) is a Role Play that is based off a number of shows and previous NationStates Role Plays. Each nation has a "personification" which has all the stereotypical qualities of the national populace. For example, if the national government and its people are mainly religious, the personification would be religious as well. If the nation is known for its great pianists, then the personification would be great at playing the piano as well. If the nation is militarily oriented and aggressive, the personification will be very aggressive and good with armed conflict.
Q3: So... how would this thread run?
A3: It would be an open ended type of Role Play. It would be set in Modern Technology.
Q4: Open ended? Huh?
A4: Open ended in this sense means that there is no main plot. The Role Play is open to any direction. For example, some participants will be off in the midst of a fight, while two others may be having a lunch meeting to build stronger ties, and another participant may be in their office doing paperwork in their capitol. In regards to movement, it is done by normal means (car, train, plane, foot, etc.).
Q5: Is a personification any different from an actual human?
A5: Yes. At the end of this FAQ is a list of rules for Personifications. The Role Play may be set in Modern Tech, but there are certain qualities to personifications... that, and I reserve the right to have magical events if I feel it makes the Role Play interesting. You can suggest ideas for events as well to me via a post or a Private Message if you're uncomfortable with publicly expressing the idea.
Q6: I'm concerned that my schedule may not work that well...
A6: That's the greatest part about this. Scheduling doesn't matter! You can step out of the Role Play for the time needed and jump back in when you're ready. Things may progress but they will never reach a point where a participant can't jump back in.
Q7: ...Once again, you make a crazy idea sound legitimately fun. Where's the application?
A7: There should be a spoiler for the application near the bottom of this post. It is underneath the Commandments of the Personification.
Q8: What do you mean by a physical and actual age?
A8: The physical age is in regards to how the body looks in regards to age. The actual age is in regards to the length of the personification's life.
Q9: I don't have a Role Playing sample... at least one I'm not proud of...
A9: That's okay! You can easily type up a new one right here. Simply type a paragraph or two so we can get a feel for your writing.
Q10: I have a really good question that isn't here.
A10: If you have a question, post in this thread or send me a private message. If it's a really good question (or if it's asked a bunch of times), then I will add it to the FAQ.
The Commandments of the Personification:1. The Personification shalt be granted eternal life, so long as they have followers of their faith.
2. The Personification shalt not be able to kill other personifications, save for the use of dark magic.
3. The Personification shalt be tied directly to the government and will hath its opinions brought into focus by said government.
4. The Personification can fall ill should its followers engage in a war of infighting.
5. The Personification can be slain should a civil war end in the favor of the forces against the Personification.
6. The Personification can have siblings in the forms of colonies or other nations.
7. The Personification shalt enjoy their life... for it is as eternal as they desire.
