Heroic and legitimate Chinese military conducts its first aircraft carrier jet launch and landing

I can hardly wait for their invasion of Japan and Australia.

Doesn't it worry anyone in the slightest that a totalitarian regime that has no problems mass murdering people by the millions has the capability now of doing the same to people in other countries not only their own?

Frankly, I think they should arm psychopaths with AK-47s and nukes just to balance out the world. Oh, wait, they did. North Korea.

Historically, China tends to have a fierce and scary looking army, but never really uses it. Their army is more of an insurance policy to get what they really care about in the world: money. While it is obviously very possible I could be wrong I doubt that they will seriously do any military operations.

All the US has to do to bring China down is to stop buying their cheap crap.m Which, judging from where I think the economy is mostly heading, will happen intentionally or otherwise.

One of the problems that the Chinese have is that their technology is second hand - either bought from Russia or Stolen/Bought from the US. Which means we know their weaknesses.

I mean, China finally got an aircraft carrier. Big deal. Welcome to the 1920's, China!

The US doesn't really have much to worry about but Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea. Taiwan and everyone else in that region does, though.

From a purely economic point of view, I suspect China will go expansionist like the Soviet Union did after WWII. They are Communist/Socialist/Fascist/Totalitarian and sucking up one's neighbors militarily is one of the key results of Marxist based economic/social/totalitarian systems. Once they expend all of their own wealth, they have to steal it from their neighbors like the Germans, Japanese and Italians did leading up to and culminating in WWII (where the US got sucked in to preserve British, Belgian, French and Dutch colonial interests world wide :P ).

Personally, if I was a Mongolian or Taiwanese head of government I'd be scared half to death right now. China has historical ... problems with both countries, and now it has the army to enforce its claims.

Not to mention to further endanger Mongolia on the other side of their border they have Russia sitting there, a nation which has a history of meddling in nations that formed out of USSR and Tsarist Russian territory (which Mongolia is one of) and which is now sliding towards a dictatorship.

I don't think China touch Korea, Japan, New Zealand or Australia (or any other oceanic or south asian country) however. All of them have huge ties to the USA and in NZ and Aussie's case the Commonwealth and the UK. Also, no one is going to want to let Australia's uranium get into China's hands.

That makes it a situation that should China touch it would just end in World War III if Europe and North America didn't want to lose half the planet to China.
