Romanoffia for Vice Delegate and Council

Garde à l'eau!
Romanoffia for Vice Delegate and Council:

I think most of you are familiar with my particular positions on any number of issues due to my previous campaigns for Delegate, so I won't bore you with repetitions that can be found in previous campaign threads.

Experience - These are the positions I have held over the years in TNP:

Minister of Immigration and Internal Affairs/Culture - Currently holding this position
Security Council Member
Minister of Defense
Deputy Minister of Defense
Minister of Communications
Minister of External Affairs
Speak or the RA
NPIA (original founding member)
NPA General (Ret.)
Associate Court Justice

Additional experience -

A long track record of specializing in tormenting and removing Rogue Delegates and Invaders supporting those Rogues.
Exclusively a resident and citizen of The North Pacific.

Statement of purpose:

As Vice Delegate I will take my duties as described in the Constitution and TNP Legal Code seriously and perform those duties to the letter of the law. I am always present on the forum and always active. My primary goal is to serve The North Pacific, and having been and exclusive citizen and resident of this region, shall do so without being influenced by foreign elements or loyalties divided with other regions. The North Pacific is my only and exclusive loyalty and I will serve as Vice Delegate with honor and distinction.

As such, I ask everyone for their vote for Vice Delegate and for Council.

Okay, so you have a lot of experience. But why does that experience mean that I should vote for you over someone else? If elected to the Council, would you wish to continue with your current role or try something else? What would you like to achieve, other than "serve the North Pacific"? How do you feel that the fact that you are only involved in TNP makes you a better candidate than others?

And now something that I'm going to ask all candidates: Why shouldn't I vote for you? Everyone has weaknesses, so what are yours?

I have a very serious question I am asking all candidates - what is your position on the abuse of purple? Will you protect purple from abuse by persons?

The experience I have, as well as the fact that I have always been in TNP since TNP has existed means that I have a fairly comprehensive view of how this region has worked and how it can be improved. I know the functioning of this government inside-out (as well as any number of previous governments). My experience gives me the ability to improve how our government functions because I have seen the government from nearly all perspectives in terms of function (or dysfuntion as the case occasionally can be).

One of the objectives that very few Vice Delegates fail to achieve is to study not only how the government works as a whole but also to study how the Delegate governs. This latter point is important should a Vice Delegate need to assume the position of Delegate. Given that latter point, it is of utmost importance that a Vice Delegate (or Delegate, for that matter) have a comprehensive understanding of how the government works. That understanding can only be effectively achieved by experience in government.

As for running for re-election to the Council, I've held a number of cabinet positions in the past. Most recently, MoFA and MoIIA (MoCE),and MoC and MoD in the past. Hence, I can effectively serve in any capacity that would be assigned to me by the Delegate. Any role that I am requested to fill I am more than happy to serve. The experience I have in this capacity allows me to work with other ministries when needs be.

The fact that I have been an exclusive citizen of The North Pacific makes me a better candidate because I have only the interests of The North Pacific in mind. I have no other loyalties than TNP. I have no cause or reason to 'affect' actions in TNP to the benefit of other regions or external organizations my only goal being to serve TNP, promote its standing and influence, and preserve it's Democratic principles, security and prestige. I am beholden to no one but the citizens as represented by their government.

As for weaknesses? I have a weakness that takes the form of an over-devotion to egalitarian principles; democratic principles; and libertarian ideals especially embodied in the principles of free speech and exchange of ideas.

Another weakness involves my personal principle that government positions, elected or otherwise, the region and the people thereof are an end unto themselves and not a means to an end. One of the purposes of occupying a high position of government, in my opinion, is not to wield that power but to avoid having to wield it as much as possible other than that which is required of a given position. This reluctance on my part to act in a way that might be technically 'authoritarian' is a peculiar weakness on my part. Most of the time it takes more self-restraint not to wield power than to wield it just to obtain a momentary advantage or end. But put in a nut-shell, my biggest weakness is my dedication to the principles of egalitarianism and democracy.

Oh, and I have real weakness for horses, dogs, cats and really good brandy and expensive cigars. And sexy women who know how to use weapons with efficiency and prowess. :P

And from Kingborough:

I have a very serious question I am asking all candidates - what is your position on the abuse of purple? Will you protect purple from abuse by persons?

Purple is inappropriate in terms of color for posts. This would never have happened and would have never been an issue if the Bigfoot Surströmmung Act had not been vetoed by the Delegate and then amended to include Grosseschnauzers under the protective umbrella of Susquatches and other endangered species.

If any color should be abused, it should be Orange. Not because I have any dislike of the color orange, but because it's orange's turn to be abused. Let's be fair now. :eyebrow:
