Delegate appointments

As announced in the WA Delegate's area, I have appointed Cakatoa as Assistant Delegate for External Affairs.

Vilnoia1 has advised me that his RL'commitments as a student preclude his ability to continue handling the Communications area, including the Regional Updates for our embassies and bulletins to TNP residents about regional decelopments.

Therefore I am seeking R.A. members to handle the Communications portfolio as an Assistant Delegate, and a general portfolio as Assistant Delegate for Internal Affairs. I'd like to make these appointments by the end of the coming weekend, so prompt offers of interest are very welcome. Send me a P.M. as soon as possible if you are interested.

I am pleased to report to the R.A. that Govindia has agreed to serve as Assistant Delegate for Internal Affairs, effective with the expiration of his term as Associate Justice at the conclusion of the judicial elections.

Grimalikn, you can't develop a new generation of leaders without opportuntie to serve and to learn.

The lack of a cabinet for.the last few delegate terms has weakened TNP's ability to do just that.

My point remains.

Expressed in a different way, practice makes perfect.

In any event, I have announced the appointment of Greater Peterstan as Assistant Delegate for Communications.

I'm sorry, I'm just going by the facts. And after what you posted in Todd's thread, you have no right to claim a moral high ground.

With no offense to you, Gross, but speaking totally as an outsider I need to question your appointment here. I don't think there's a better way to isolate one's self from other feeders than to place said person close to leadership positions in any region. The reputation of being banned from every feeder but this one (I believe) should be telling, and his attitude has been a concern. Totally understand if you believe outside opinion is worthless, but it appears the region here is at ends with this decision, too, judging from a few posts I've read here and in other threads.

Your decision, of course, but I just wanted to let you know. Anyway, peace.

I don't understand your objections. Gross is absolutely correct that we need active members willing to participate in the civic process. And Gov has been an active citizen. He's invested countless hours in this game. It's not easy to make your way in any region, especially a Feeder. He's up there in the pantheon of Zhadanov, Gordenel and even our judically-frustrated former delegate Jal. Shame on you. Shame on ALL of you. I fear for this region when we attack our fellow players.

TNP is not other regions, never has been and it is part of our democratic heritage that we do things in a unique way here. So citing other regions or feeders doesn't carry particular weight with me. And given that about half of the longest playing nations in the NS world reside here whether measured by population or influence, we must be doing something right in TNP.
Gov knows he needs the experience, and perhaps just perhaps this is the best way to do it. As.it is none of the critics, who are all politically affiliated with each other offered to that that position, but on the other hand having appointees outside that one party group keeps thing on the up and up.

A note to the three appointees and the new Vice Delegate, you are atill required by Law 1 ro post an oath of office in the designated thread in the WA Delegate's Office.

Firstly get your facts straight Todd, I am not banned from every feeder. Only three of them. One of which you were partly to blame for (TEP) even thougH I helped the residents there while you were opportunistic and wanted a power grab for the delegacy. Even Loop doesn't go there much anymore and is a very good friend of mine.

Secondly, I'm not some n00b. I'm in NS for nearly 6 years and I have government, legislative and judicial experience. I've been a foreign minister, defence minister, intelligence minister, immigration minister, ambassador, attorney general, and defence attorney, and have authored legislation (including parts of a constitution) in more than one userite region.

Thirdly, given how the Progressive Party is keen on attacking TNP citizens it doesn't like rather than attempting to reach out to them and work with them, it very well shows they're not willing to work much with others or willing to compromise. SUch as it shows here by the lack of support, much less, respect, to the new appointees except Peterstan because he's one of hteir own. You may not like me, but please for once in youir life, act like a human being and show some respect and stop acting like a dick.

I've seen you guys repeatedly attack me in your IRC channel, despite beign told by Eluvatar not to. Calling me "rat shit", a "retard", falsely accusing me of homophobia and then verbally taunting me when non-party members speak in the channel. Yea, real mature.

And for the record Dalimbar, I'm a strong supporter of LGBT rights. One of my closest friends is a M to F transgender, and quite a few of my friends are bi or gay. I have no problem with them so hush up with you derogatory accusations and get your facts straight. Furries have nothing to do with the LGBT community and my issue with furries is a separate matter entirely..

And you are expecting people to support your COnstituent Assembly idea with your attiude towards those who disagreee with you, as if they're "morons"..... <_<

Govindia,
I am not part of any Political Party at all nor do I go on IRC in the TNP. My complaints come from you being a court justice.

Being a justice on the court you have to know the laws and if you don't know them, then you look it up and have supporting evidence from the governing documents of the region. You failed to do this and then claim that you were right in your decision. Your decision was wrong, plain and simple. It clearly states what a term limit is in the governing documents of the nation. Therefore I wish you would stand up admit that you were wrong take the beating for being wrong and move on.

Now do I have other problems with you? Yes I do. I have problems with a lot of things that go on around here. But they are not big enough to cause an argument over. However being a justice and giving out false information is wrong in my book and need to be justified. You were being an idiot by not taking the help I was offering you and trying to correct you. Instead you insisted on arguing and turning the whole thing into a bigger matter than it needed to be.

So for future reference as I have stated before. If you are going to be a justice clearly know the laws of the land. And when cases get brought before you. Know what the hell you are doing and make your decision based on facts. Then post those facts when making your final ruling on the situation! That is all I ask!

Zhadanov, Kerv. Zhadanov.
Don't insult the ADN/NPO persona of the great Kurdazistan by misspelling its name lest he smite you with nude pictures.

Mr. Speaker, can I ask that all members of the R.A. please watch the line between disagreements and name calling? I disagree with quite a few people.over the years (Blue Wolf, among others, come to mind) but it is not difficult to do the former and not cross the line into the latter.

I've already explained part of my reasoning for my appointments but I'll.add.this. I'm not interest in figurehead appointments. The way I have decided to proceed.is based uponmy firm conviction that having Delegates without any assistance within the executive was not a.wise or.successful development under this Constitution. But we also did not need to.go back to the size of elected.Cabinets in the past. Having three deputies besides the Vice Delegate (to whom the Constitution does assign an executive role and about whom it can be argued that his security role is directly tied.into the Delegate's responsibility for regional security) seems to me to be the right.number. We do.need a utility person as one of the three. To have an attentive Delegate in the official forums and still perform the numerous in-game tasks requires that sort of foresight. And to be clear I am a hands on sort of executive. My two terms as Prime Minister under the last Constitution show that without question.
While my current WA nation has been in NS foe just about 7 years, I have recently recovered my original nation which dares back to the first months of Nationstates. So I've been here even longer than some of you might think.

Question to the Delegate, and pardon me if it's been asked or detailed already, but what exactly will the A-Del for Internal Affairs be doing?

Govindia:
The ban in TEP was a regional decision, and was only suspended when the government was in exile. As for the above comments, so be it. I am sure you would agree with me that I expect you to give people the same amount of respect you expect people to give you.

Actually, Gov, we were also quite happy with Cakatoa's appointment even though he's -not- part of the party. The only appointment anyone seems to have a problem with is yours.

You babble on about this, and babble on about that, but you seemed to just ignore my post where I pointed out your own hypocrisy. You no longer have a right to claim a high ground about "respect" because you also refuse to show any. So do us all a favor, act like a human being, show some respect and just STFU.

Dalimbar, I have described it previously as those areas in the executive branch not included in the external affairs or communications portfolios, and will be guided by needs that are identified. One way to see what I mean is to look at what areas Govindia is shown indicidually to be a moderator. We certainly need to clean up the Welcome area, some of the resources haven't been updated since Tresville or even Hersfold's time, so those do need some work.

Keep in mind we haven't had any delegation of responsibility for several terms, and the lack of any structure whatsoever in the current legal.scheme is a weakness I've said previously I felt needed to be addressed. And having titles of ”Assistant Delegate” conveys what we have now better than the traditional titles like ”minister” or ”secretary.”

And the only people bitching about it are people who can't get over their stupid pointless grudges after all these years.

GET THE HELL OVER IT if you claim to be mature adults and show some support and respect.

Your post has no relevance in this case, and if you are congratulatory and supportive of Cakatoa's appointment I expect you all to be mature and show the same respect towards me PERIOD. If you can show support and respect to him I expect you to do so here if you claim to be mature and civil.

And Todd, the ban was suspended because Loop knows my loyalty to him and TEP and appreciated the fact that I helped fight against the Empire, while you seemed to not do much except want to go for a power grab for the delegacy. I legally violated no laws or policies in TEP otherwise, so I will leave it at that.

That being said, Grosse is not a fool, and I expect you all to support all the appointments he made during the transition, especially a party that claims to want to help improve the region.

Personally, I think anyone who volunteers to take one of these positions should be thanked - they don't really come with any power, just more work. Let Govindia (and everyone else) be judged on the job they do or don't do.

Govindia is a long time resident of the region, and is as much part of the "political culture" around here as anyone else. At least he is an active player. You're well within your rights to dislike him, but I think he makes the Region a more interesting place. This is a political game, and that requires conflict.

And honestly, you can't really blame Grosse for gathering a supporter or two around him. There is a red tide closing in around them from all sides. :hello:

It is to his credit, frankly, that he allowed me to take the Communications portfolio, in spite of my Party affiliation. But again - sometimes the best person is the one who steps up and volunteers to do it.

Now, volunteering to do it and actually doing it are two different things. I'm going to give Gov. the benefit of the doubt for now, mostly because I would want people to do that for me.

I certainly agree that what you have listed needs to be done. And while I have reservations on the individual, as others have outlined in greater detail, it's your choice as Delegate, and hope that in any case he (and the rest of your appointments, whom I can happily say are excellent choices) does well.

Also, is one of the appointees going to handle internal recruitment, or will that be handled by yourself?

Likewise, I am unsure of Gov's abilities and attitude; however, I hope that he can do well in this position for both his own good and for the benefit of TNP and wish him luck.
