A Message from the Delegate

Hello everyone.

Now that I'm officially your Delegate, I thought I would share what I have in mind for the remaining month of my term. I would prefer to show you what I'm actually doing rather than talking about what I'm going to do, but I also believe it's only fair that I share with you where we're headed.

First off, I will not be naming a Cabinet. Instead of naming a group of people to specific job titles (and invariably watching them disappear from public life) for the remainder of the term, I will ask individuals to perform specific tasks as they arise. If they perform well, I'll tap them for other jobs. Conversely, if they aren't up to the task at hand, they'll be replaced quickly and without any hand-wringing. This approach should both be more efficient than previous efforts and allow more active players an opportunity to contribute.

With that in mind, I have asked Vilnoia1 to be my Press Secretary. He will continue his excellent work writing and disseminating regional updates and posting regional news on the RMB.

Now on to what I hope to accomplish in the next month:
  • Revamp our diplomatic relations top to bottom. I will go through our existing embassies and, with your help, decide which ones stay and which ones go. I will continue to review new embassy applications with the Regional Assembly.
  • Once our relationships have been finalized, hold up our end of the diplomatic equation and reconnect with our embassies abroad. There will be ambassador positions opening up for those interested.
  • Work with Grosseschnauzer to make the forum more user friendly. Unused forums will be closed. The new member FAQ will be fixed and updated. Links to nowhere will be removed. Things will be simplified.
  • Continue to endorse new WA members, sending a welcome telegram directing them to the forum. This will enhance our influence in the World Assembly, further secure the Delegate position and, hopefully, entice new and active players to join us.
  • Encourage input from the region on the issues that face us. It is my goal, first and foremost, to represent the interests of the members of this region. The best way to do that is to actively seek feedback from the members themselves. If you have an idea or project you'd like to undertake for the betterment of the region, shoot me a message. I'm willing to listen.

There is much to do and not much time to do it but I believe these goals, with your help, are attainable. I look forward to continuing our work together.

~ BS
