TNP Timeline

Goal: To create a comprehensive timeline of the history of The North Pacific.

This has been a project that I've wanted to do for a long time. The idea is that there will be a timeline accessible online of all the major (and some minor) events in TNP history. We have a very rich history in this region so it should end up being a very valuable resource.

I think the best software to display the timeline out there is the SIMILE Timeline Widget developed at MIT: http://www.simile-widgets.org/timeline/

It's a powerful system and does a good job at separating data from display (so even if I disappear from the game, the xml file will still exist and can be displayed on any web host, or even on a local computer).

Sounds pretty cool, right? But I need YOUR help! I've already started putting delegacies on the timeline, but I'm missing everything after Feb. 2008. I'm also missing delegacies (and events before Pixiedance). If you have dates for these, they are top priority and would be most appreciated!

I haven't started yet on adding other events to the timeline, including the exciting moments of delegacy takeovers, constitutional conventions, laws passed, non-delegate executives elected, military victories, etc. I want this timeline to be as comprehensive as possible, and in order to do so I need everyone's help.

So what does everyone think? Do you have some dates/events to share? I think this could be an exciting project and help us and future generations of TNP nations understand the complex and interesting history of the region.

Ator, you may well be able to find the Delegacy information through the archives here, including the rogues. Unfortunately, that does require sorting through it all.

I haven't looked at NS Wiki since it was revived, and I have no idea what the state of that information is. You should be able to check election threads as to who was elected Delegate, though.

This is an excellent idea. Best of luck in combing the archives. I hope you're able to see this through before boredom, frustration, life interferes.

As a note, my Delegacy (my UN nation was Chodean Kal) was from Feb 19th to August 19th 2007. If you want to make an inclusion of the time I was "rogue", I believe the dates were July 15th to August 19th 2007. Then GBM (unless I'm forgetting someone between my coup, the transition to GBM and EM's coup) held the Delegacy from then to October 23rd, when Emperor Matthuis coup'ed from the 23rd to the 26th (or so).

Thanks Dali! That was very useful and I've used the info to update the timeline so far.

If anybody has the delegate dates after EM that would be helpful!

I think it's starting to come together.

Might I recommend this site?

In the Field drop-down menu, click region, then type in The North Pacific. It gives a spotty but decent account on history in a region. I think it's pretty cool.
Wow, that's an awesome website! Thanks! It should fill in most/all of the delegate data I'm missing.

After delegates I'm hoping to move to other minor/major events. If you have things you want to go on the timeline, let me know!

Alright, I added all the delegates in from United Individuals to Flemingovia (present).

I'm missing the periods over the last two years which would be considered "coups" other than the dates Dali gave me. Could someone help me identify which delegates (and when) were not recognized as the legitimate delegate by the government in recent months/years? Thanks!
