The Most Influential in Nationstates

The NS world rankings today is about the "Most Inluential." I've assumed that it's the output of the in-game influence factor that began a couple of years ago.

It's an interesting list, especially since TNP is ranked number 1 as a region within Nationstates.

What's more interesting is the ranking of the top 32 nations in TNP according to the in-game influence ratings.

We have 31 nations with an influence of Vassal or higher. 30 of those 31 are WA members. And our current Delegate is number 32 and the highest ranked minnow within the region.

Flem has been around since forever, but he hasn't always had Flemingovia in TNP since the beginning of the influence measurement factor.
But it is interesting to see how many former delegates are in this group. I don't know who is ahead of GBM worldwide in influence, but that's about the only real surprise on the list. It is interesting how high individual nations in TNP are on that list as well.
One element of influence is the number of endorsements receieved and given, and WA membership is necessary to do that. Length of time in the region is another factor, so the one non-WA on the list must have been here from the time influence started to be calculated.
 
It is Fudge as number one worldwide; the Most Influential is the list again today.

Don't recall offhand if Governmentum ever was WA or not.

I didn't notice any changes in the order (but there's always the possibility of moving up or down in influence level.)
 
Governmentum was WA. Over the years some big ones from TNP snuffed it. That I can remember are Jayzer, Dipsomaniatron, and more recently Frejmark who would be top 20 at least.

So the most influential region has often been the most unstable - is one a cause of the other?

That's easy to explain... Most of the long term players in NS tend to be in TNP and have the high influence mainly because they tend to stay in TNP.
 
I haven't had a chance yet to grab the NS-wide rankings of today's NS list of most influential, but here's the regional list of the top 32 nations with influence of vassal or greater; Flem is the lowest ranked Vassal on the list now.
