And Now For Something Completely Different...

Garde à l'eau!
I thought it would be fun to post these O/C pictures.

Here I am on my wild mustang at a Hunter Pace not too long ago.

This little mustang is 14.2 tall and jump 5'6" with my fat arse on her back (I weigh about 180 lbs).

These pictures were taken at a Hunter Pace about 3 weeks ago. The target time was 1 hour, 47 minutes for a 12 mile run. We did it way too fast (at what I call a casual pace) at 1 hour, 24 minutes, 56 seconds. IOW, we went way too fast for the optimum time and lost big time (but we were fast and that's what I like!). :winner:

Nevertheless, you don't get any points for going too fast.

At any rate (way too fast for this hunter pace), she tops out at 35 MPH (faster than hell) and can jump like a raped ape. Ba-Ba (as in Baba Yaga) is a curly haired wild mustang (not unlike the Bashkir horses from the Urals in Russia) who is 10 years old. She was taken off the range in 2005 and competes in equitation and jumpers; endurance racing and loves to fox hunt. She goes out for daily rides (too keep her game up) of 6 to 12 miles - and that's every day that weather permits (if I don't keep her going she gets a bit snippy and gets pissed off if she doesn't get daily attention).

Any other horsey people in THP? :w00t:

Hmm, cool!

I sat on a horse thrice, and on a donkey once.
One of my friends was learning to ride horses, and I really regret now that I didn't do it..

Riding horses is the closest thing to flying you can do without leaving the ground (unless you jump :w00t: )

@ Vrtbovska Zahrada

I've got a friend from Russia who is retiring at the ripe old age of 42 who is bringing his Cossak Don horse and Russian bred Trakehner over to the US. He bought a piece of land near my farm and has just finished building a very nice log cabin and barn.

Eh?

I've never been to Russia, and know only a few Russians; I have no work to retire from; I don't have horses; I couldn't ride them anyway; and I don't really intend to buy land next to your farm. :)

So how does your friend relate to me?
Well okay, it would be cool if I could do the same maybe..
