Why can't I get a certain job? I pressed apply...

I started a new job and now I'm loosing much more wellness when I work than when I used to. Why?
The job has a higher Q level. This means they produce higher quality goods. The higher the Q, the more wellness it takes to produce the product. A Q1 job will lose you 1 wellness, a Q5 job will lose you 5 wellness.
My wages say I earn £10, but I only get around £8. Why?
Tax. It's the curse of the working class, not drink.
