Nuclear Weapons

In real life terms, Communist China has 1.5 billion people and North Korea has a 4 million man army. We can`t support anything to counter that other than nuclear weapons.

But having enough stockpiled to blow up the world ten times over? That's pushing it.
 
Meh, both are still poorly equipped. (while China has increasing numbers of good equipment, the vast majority of its army is still using 60s-70s vintage stuff)

Good old fashioned carpet bombing, incendiaries, and fuel-air bombs will do a good number on any large infantry formation.

And it's technology like that which makes Israel the most safe country on the planet, able to neutralize any threat foreign or domestic with a simple bombing campaign...

I certainly hope you aren't implying that its nuclear arsenal solves domestic problems. :P

Pakistan's arsenal sure makes its local government an overriding concern for the CIA. How else did Musharraf stay in power so long?

North Korea's nuclear arsenal ensures that no regime change will attempted a la Iran 1952, Chile 1972, etc.
 
Here was one of my first penned proposals; based on the RL START-1 between the USSR and USA. The critical flaw in any resolution on this is that even if you pass a resolution banning nukes, there's a great number of non-WA nations possessing nukes.
 
Should nuclear weapons be eliminated from the planet? Of course.

Should nuclear weapons be eliminated from only those countries in the WA, allowing everyone else to possess them? Of course not.
 
Nukes don't kill people, people kill people. If the logic is good enough for Chuck Heston and the NRA then who am I to disagree. Anyway, God likes nukes. :noangel:
