Why are we here?

Maybe if we want to sort things out here we need to remember what we are here for.

What are we interested in? Is it the “military affairs”- invading/defending? Is it “RP”?

Basically, what is it you want to do when you log into this forum? Though we are talking about NS, we are talking specifically about TNP so if invading is your thing but you do that with a different region and can’t/won’t commit your WA to TNP then that isn’t what I’m looking for. So what is it?

The Invader/Defender game is pretty much dead so I am not here for that any longer.

I want to participate in government so I am in the RA. However, I have never been interested in heavy legislating and only do it when I must. I am fine with posting brief opinions on RA proposals and voting.

I committed my WA to TNP because I had/have in game influence so it is here for its security. Because of that I am a Security Council Member. With that comes basic intel but heavy Intel I cannot participate in since this forum is under IF TOS and posting some intel can be a violation which could shut down the board.

When I come to this forum I enjoy the occasional entertainment threads but not the "general" Role Play. I do like Event Role Play since we only do that perhaps 2 or 3 times a year.

I enjoy participating in Diplomatic Affairs depending on how said Minister organizes those affairs. So, I would be a Dip Corps member on occasion but have not been too interested in that under most of our ministers.

Recruitment is basically in game and your not asking about that. But I welcome new members on occasion and try to update the Yellow Pages when I get a chance and decide to take on that task.

Basically that is what I want and do when I log into this forum.

To interact with people online? I thought that is what a forum is for...?

I want to be an internet statesman when I grow up, so I figured this would be a logical step towards my dream!

Edit: I just wikipediad the internet and apparently it exists outside of geographic or culutural boundaries?

What is it like being the Head of State? Do you feel the power of the office? You have the implied authority to exercise force to maintain order, do you ever wonder what it would be like to ban someone arbitrarily? Which bizarrely implies that being delegate is a lot like being a record producer.

These days, I'm probably here out of inertia.

Historically, I've enjoyed military action, but I don't enjoy emptying regions, and other than a brief stint as a raider, I've been in armies that travelled on their butts, not their stomachs!

I don't mind "RP", but I have a history of "writers block" when my RL gets busy (which happens a lot).
