The Office of the Attorney General of The North Pacific charges that former Regional Assembly (RA) member Knockavale did knowingly and willingly submit an application for re-admittance to the RA using a proxy server. The IP address associated with Knockavale's account at the time of application was traced back to the proxy website http://proxy1.dcu.ie/. The use of a proxy server on the TNP forums without prior governmental consent is a violation of TNP Law #27, Article 1, Secion 1.2. As per the aforementioned law, the prosecution seeks an immediate and permanent forum ban for member Knockavale. Justification of the sought punishment may be found below in bold.

TNP Law 27:
Proxy Server Usage Law

Article I

Section One

The use of a proxy server by a forum user to conceal a forum user's host server is declared to be a security risk to the region.

1. The use of a proxy server by a Member Nation that is a member of The North Pacific Army or Intelligence Agencies shall require the prior express authorization of said official entity which may be disclosed confidentially to other government officials only in the performance of their official duties.

2. Use of a proxy server by a member Nation that applies for Regional Assembly membership is prohibited, and constitutes a criminal offense that may subject the violator to a permanent ban from the regional forum, ejection from the region by the UN Delegate, or both. This provision may be enforced prior to, or subsequent to, a trial in the manner provided by law.

Section Two

1. Proxy server usage is defined as the use of an IP connection with the intent of rendering a forum user anonymous, aka proxy spoofing, or any such practice designed to allow a member to have multiple accounts on the TNP forum.

This law shall go into effect immediately upon passage.

I'll offer any technical assistance in regards to what you just stated (School server). But I am not a Lawyer by far. Try contacting Gross, Elu or a few of our other legal minds.
 
Knockavale got swept up in an activity sweep, he reapplied and I asked Eluvatar to do a standard IP address check, and was surprised to find him using an IP that was a direct one given by the proxy server site stated. Elu emphatically stated that the IP was a proxy. I immediately notified the Attorney General.

I've attempted to explain the severity of situation but my technological knowhow is not the best, I've asked Flem through PM to explain to knockavale but he's yet to reply, probably due to email notification failure.

Knockavale has been an explemary Regional Assemblyman and I am shocked and dismayed by these findings.

Because Elu was the admin who conducted the IP check, I'd highly recommend not consulting him for fear witness tampering.

May i ask for Falconias or Numero Capitan of FRA to explain the problem with servers here. Id just like to say i had no prior knowledge that i was on a proxy server and i just re-applied because i wanted to get involved again.
 
IANAL, nor do I play one on TV, but my guess is because proxies would allow for multiple identities, multiple RA votes, multiple electoral votes and all sorts of other skylarkings.
 
I'll explain, I doubted you were actually knowingly using a proxy server because I can't think of any motivation for you to do so. We are well aware of who you are, both here and elsewhere by Tresvilles comments, and you've served in TNP for a while now. I'd be quite suprised if you were actually trying to undermine the system in any way (which is unlikely considering you have been fairly inactive of late).
 
The Court thanks the Attorney General for bringing this to our attention.

As first on the rota for hearings and trials I will be presiding over this issue. I will open a hearing in order to allow the comments already expressed in an unofficial capacity within this thread the opportunity to be heard by the Court and allow any motions requested to be made.
