Dont worry GBM, we got our little revenge anyways, patience is a great virtue for a samurai, I need to think about another idea now.
There something for you, Citizen of TNP to know more about us:
A Brief History of Tokugawa Japan (formerly Feudal Japan)
First Shogunate - Nobunagas Revenge (November 2005 - March 2006)
The region Feudal Japan was founded by Nobunagas Revenge in November 2005. Its stated objective was to protect small regions from invasions; ones too small and insignificant for larger defender organizations to look after. Of course, the region also promoted the theme of the feudal era of Japan, particularly the latter half of the sixteenth century. A number of conventions were adopted to make the region unique: long style flags modelled on the feudal era, an internal ranking system of samurai and daimyo, a government founded on the feudal model with the Shogun effectively installed as king, etc. Recruitment enjoyed considerable success (approaching 100 nations) as well as the off-site forum (over 10,000 posts in three months). Unfortunately, by the end of March, Nobunagas Revenge was forced to drop from the game and it looked as though Feudal Japan was going to be just another 'flash in the pan' story.
Second Shogunate - Burn Up Blade (aka Neandertron) (March 2006 - July 2006)
Burn Up Blade assumed the Shogunate, invited by Nobunagas Revenge in his last forum posting to make what he could of the soon founderless region. BuB made every effort to hold together the region's members with his assurances that the region's mission and activity level would be sustained. Nonetheless there was a signficant drop-off in population to approximately 40 nations, with others losing interest or moving to greener pastures following the loss of Nobunagas Revenge's considerable charisma and the invasion threat posed by occupying a region without a founder. Nobunagas Revenge was elevated to the position of Emperor - a figurehead only, unless he should return to the game (thereby ressurecting the region's founder). Meanwhile, Feudal Japan's defender mission was subsumed by the need to defend itself. The second Shogunate was consumed mostly with foreign affairs and forming alliances with friendly regions. Towards the end of BuB's reign, he scored a major coup: Feudal Japan became a protectorate of The New Meritocracy, complete with that region's full pledge of protection.
Third Shogunate - Knights of Zion (aka Bishamonten) (July 2006 - December 2006)
Knights of Zion assumed the Shogunate following BuB's desire to retreat from the time-consuming tasks involved. With alliances firmly in place and the region thus protected, KoZ turned the region's focus back onto recruitment and within six months the region rose to a more healthy population of some 80 nations, with approximately fifteen UN members supporting the designated UN delegate. A further significant development was a revisiting and revision to the mission statement, which turned Feudal Japan away from being a defender organization and restated it as a neutral power intent on assisting other nations with region building. The region of Feudal Japan endured a handful of minor invader assaults during this period, led by the Aezean Combine.
Fourth Shogunate - Madazi (aka Uzkanistania) (December 2006 - November 2007)
The fourth Shogunate was a prolonged eleven month period of peaceful reign. Most of the significant events of this period were very internally focussed. Shinto beliefs were incorporated into the internal ranking process, by which activity and other contribution to the region became a pre-requisite for rank advancement rather than simply by whim of the Shogun. Towards the end of the Fourth Shogunate, due to Feudal Japan's lack of activity in the Meritocracy's Senate it lost its status as a protectorate of The New Meritocracy and the two organizations parted ways. In the interest of establishing a new alliance for its protection, Feudal Japan turned eventually to Catlandatopia which had persuaded Feudal Japan's government that it had turned over a new leaf and no longer had invasion intentions. A non-aggression pact was thus formed.
Fifth Shogunate - Viktor (aka Manticores) (November 2007 - Present)
The region's peaceful rule under the Fourth Shogunate was subsequently followed by its most tumultuous, although through no fault of the newly installed Shogun. Catlandatopia contrived (they would say justly, of course) a means of accusing Feudal Japan of transgressing the non-aggression pact we ourselves had drafted and proposed with them, and launched an invasion under the guise of being new nations responding to our latest recruitment campaign. In late November, two weeks after Viktor's ascention to the Shogunate, Catlandatopia took control of the region. Following several negotiations that might or might not have led anywhere, the native population of Feudal Japan founded and moved to the region Tokugawa Japan in mid-December shortly before the holidays. UN nations not yet removed continued to hold out in Feudal Japan (five months later, there are still five remaining). The move to Tokugawa Japan witnessed the loss of several quiet, non-active nations but appears to have galvanized the active ones. The government of Tokugawa Japan is now comprised of a greater number of dedicated players than ever, and the region is beginning to thrive under the protection of a founder. Given this opportunity for a new lease on life, Tokugawa Japan is presently revising its entire body of legislation, doing away with deadwood and updating essential components. Once this is completed, new recruitment will begin in earnest.
