What do you really think?

To distance ourselves from national and regional issues for a minute, I wanted to ask you what your RL attitude is to NationStates politics.

I just log into my nations every day, answer a few issues, RP a bit, make some NS-inspired images, log out. Nothing big; I'm not really affected by where I'm situated, except for campaigns like the current one - where I look at the RMB and imagine the projected life of the campaign. Not even vague imaginings yet.

I find it an interesting place to scheme, plot, increase my power.

Although I only play for a short time these days, lack of time as my social life is rather good. But it's still fun to play, and I like to think that it has increased my analytical skills too.

NS have given me a Community, where I can discuss with many people of different country. The opportunity to do some politic and diplomacy. I think Ns is a good school.

I answer issues and post comments on the RMB and that's about it. Heck I haven't posted or visited here in months, and have avoided the other forum.

NS is purely a game. It's like examining an exaggerated human psyche in a petri dish.

I think only about half of the people are really like their actual personae in NS.

"I'm not really a total SOB, but I play one in NationStates" ;)

So, tell us what you really think. ;)

[spell edit...thing=think]

I love it because it has no resemblance to RL international relations. It's group dynamics and all kinds of other pseudo-scientific stuff. But really it's just fun. Why else play?

I like NS politics because they make normal international politics seem almost sane by comparison. Almost. :P

I think you can learn a lot about people by the way they play the game.

Let's put it this way ... there are a number of players I would not now buy a used car from.

Heh. That statement is hysterical if you know a certain player's RL profession.

I do find it rather depressing when I compare RL politics to NS politics.....and find that sometimes NS is more sensible.
Sometimes.
