I could go Yahoo or MSN, but not AIM (it mucks up every computer I've ever used it on)

There is AIM Express or Trillian. Trillian seems like it may be more your speed, as it is designed to run AIM, YIM, MSN, ICQ simultaneously.

I use Gaim. It's similar to trillian. I tend to run Gaim for AIM, ICQ, IRC and YIM. But MSN still insists on being run separately.

i notice you have deleted your AIM nick from your profile. Is there a reason for that, or is it just an error?
