Request for Public Apology

Minister,

As you are well aware, over the last six months or more I have been subjected to a trial that has widely been deemed a farce. That trial was recently dismissed and the charges dropped. However this comes after 6 months of time wasted, mainly by your department and your departments handling of my case.

I was forced to endure not only an stupidly long trial but one that barely moved. The prosecution changed and my defence counsel was forced to quit NS by the Justice Departments apparant incompetence. TNP's reputation as a place of law has been tarnished again as a result.

So Minister I hereby respectfully ask that you offer a public apology to myslef, to poltsamaa and to the region for the farce that your department created. I feel that this is nothing less than your duty.

Respectfully,

Fulhead Land (Innocent)

As the Speaker of the Regional Assembly, I take it upon myself to apologize for the miscarriage of justice. I'm sorry for the absurdly long and some times humourous trial proceedings, and I'm sorry we were not able to prosecute you to the best of our ability. Next time I'm sure we'll have you caught, tried, and convicted in an orderly, efficient manner, and hell I'll throw in a smile and a big mac too.

Fulhead Land, at the time you were indicted, I was still in my extended period of limited participation in NS and the region due to RL matters, and I am not qualified to offer you an apology since I was not involved during the summer in the events that apparently led to your trial.

Nor can I offer you an apology for the length of the tral. That is something you can ask the Court about. But as you know, I have criticized the speed of the proceedings in your case more than once in my two terms as Prime Minister, and when I came into office I did ask the Attorny General to please get the matter under control and resolved. I did not have the authority to contol the prosecution of the case since the law gives that responsibility to the Attorney General.

I have offered legislation to speed up the selection of juries, and the entire criminal trial process. And the Regional Assembly and the Cabinet approved a constitutional amendment that is designed to make it easier to keep the staus of Regional Assembly members current. I am trying to assure that such a trial of such length cannot happen again, and it whould not have happened in your case.

No he's totally right.

You should all totally have to beg for forgiveness from Fulhead for doing your jobs to the best of your ability and within legal and binding accordance to the law not to mention while up-holding the Constitution at ever turn, even those times when the line was a bit blurred and you could have done otherwise (ex. ending the trial). You totally should.

And I am totally not at all being totally sarcastic. Totally no...totally. ;)

If the constitution as it was written at the time was followed then no trial would have even started!!

Once commenced it was supposed to be a fair and speedy trial!! It was neither!!

Keep kissing up BW and they might move you down the list of infidels to kick from the region!! ;)

Polts, I'm not sucking up, I'm being honest. If someone wanted me to apoligize for doing my job I would be pissed. Go ahead and ask me to apoligize to all the regions I have taken in the course of being a raider and see how I react.

BW, you scoundrel! Apologize to all those poor helpless people whose regions you've raided! You should be ashamed!

I demand that you give me the time back that I spent trying to defend those poor helpless regions from you!

While I will offer an apology on behalf of the Office for how long your trial took, I will not apologize for anything else.

Firstly, you are one of the founders of the Lexicon, a region that willingly carried out hostile relations with TNP. Whether it was done through a puppet nation or your main nation is irrelevant. You, reading this from your computer, know that you were one of the people responsible for The Lexicon.

Secondly, I did not initiate this trial, and did everything in my power to make it reach a verdict as soon as possible. Blaming me or my office for the length of time it takes to choose a jury or for the way that proceedings were carried out previously is insulting.

Thirdly, the verdict reached by Democratic Donkeys was made based on a matter that I brought up with him in a Personal Message, one of several that he did not respond to. I therefore assumed that the issue would be dealt with at a later date or that it would be a non-issue.

Fourthly, you have abused the rhetoric of IC/OOC to try and prove your innocence, highlighting how this verdict, while it does technically clear you of your name, makes you similar to an OJ Simpson clear rather than an actual dismissal of wrongdoing.

And finally, you deserve no apology for this trial after the hostile manner in which you aggravated me throughout the course of these proceedings, despite the fact that I was merely doing my job.

In short, no.
