Hello, and welcome to FRONTLINE, your alternate news source.
Today 'FRONTLINE' looks at the controversy surrounding these new duality laws. The nation Katinaire has made a deliberate (and loud protest) in order to demonstrate what the effect of these laws will be, in a move which has divided a region.
Legal arguements have ensued as nations come to logger heads with the concept of duality in TNP, but more importantly, to who it applies to.
Under the definition of treason, a nation is in violation of the law if " the player controlling a nation nominally located within The North Pacific ... wages war against The North Pacific, or allies themselves with a region waging war, declared or not, against The North Pacific"
Though some have suggested one has to be at least an RA member to have the law applied, the phrase "the player controlling a nation ... located in the north pacific" suggests any nation resident can be charged and subsequently ejected from the region, even a non-forum member.
It has also been suggested that applicability of the law lies also with the precedent of endo-tarters, who do not have to be forum members to be ejected from the region.
Though, concern comes from the word "player". No longer is the nation seperate from the player. THis proposed law is now starting to hold players accountable for actions.
I support Katinaire in his proposition for him or her to be tried when the law is passed. If they expect to pass a law, it should be applied to all regardless, though, who is the all?
Is this another example of TNP minority elite attempting to control the majority who just want to play the game.
It appears TNP is bringing about its own isolation as it begins to build walls around itself.
