General Government
Chaucerin has been unanimously appointed cabinet advisor, a testament to his years of service to Equilism. We hope that he will be willing to take on a ministerial position following the next elections. The Equilism Commonwealth of Nations hopes that this display of forgiveness towards one who was once an enemy will contrast with the spite of Imperial Equilism.
This week, Westwind named new No.2 Tse Moana as his successor, prompting some members to speculate about his future in Equilism. His rejection of Chaucerin for simple disagreement is another example of the arbitrary justice of Westwind’s Imperial Equilism.
Prime Minister Tycholand has announced a regional census, and nations have been queuing up to list themselves as proud members.
FarmerLaborers has been elected as Chief Justice of the court.
Naivetry and Conjoined Korea have been elected as Associate Justices.
Congratulations to the new court of Equilism!
A Welcoming Committee has been set up by the Department of Immigration to begin the cultivation of new members.
The United Nations
Votes were 3-0-0 in favour of the Resolution “UN Fair Wage Convention”, which subsequently passed.
It has also come to our attention that the Rineu UN Delegate Aldreania has endorsed every proposed resolution. We can only ask why…
Foreign
The Commonwealth is considering the implications of Prisoner’s Dilemma for International Relations, and our policy towards Imperial Equilism is being considered with this in mind.
We are excited to have opened an Embassy in The North Pacific, and look forward
to excellent relations with them in the future.
Military
The military command is considering alliances, which should bring the E-Army further successes in weeks to come!
There was no military action this week, so we practised with toy soldiers instead…
Bar & Games
The Equilism Stock Exchange was officially opened, providing citizens of the commonwealth with another way to turn their Equilants into enjoyment!
Our English residents have been drowning their sorrows in the Bar following their nation’s pounding by Australia in the Ashes (cricket, for those who don’t follow it)
Some members have found themselves snowed in, much to the amusement of their companions in the Southern hemisphere. In England of course, it rained.
Thanksgiving passed without considerable over-consumption, and political correctness was adhered to with wishes of “Happy Thursday”
The second caption competition is up and running, with George Bush analysing “My Pet Goat”…
Debates
The sentencing of Saddam Hussein has replaced the Mid Term Elections as the most popular debate, with some relevant content to be found amongst the bizarre suggestions for punishments…
The Armed Republic of Adeptus was found to be the most extreme nation in the region, much to his delight.

Statement from the GiE regarding positive developments in Imperial Equilism
Earlier today, the Imperial Government of Equilism formally acknowledged that backchannel talks with the Government in Exile were underway. As President of the Commonwealth of Equilism, I would like to also acknowledge these talks publicly.
More significantly, Westwind made the first steps of a long process towards the return of constitutional government in the region. The banlist was cleared, the “censured” masks were removed from the forum, and most significantly, Chaucerin was granted temporary access to Equility, the seat of Westwind’s absolute power in Equilism. It goes without saying that these gestures are a tremendous victory for every resident of Equilism, and they go a long way towards proving the sincerity of Westwind and his compatriots.
We believe that Westwind did in fact make a horrendous mistake when he staged a coup against the lawful government of the region two months ago. However, we’d like nothing more than to help Westwind fix the current situation and bring unity to the region. At this point, the CoE would like to request official talks with the Imperial Government regarding re-unification. In reciprocation of Westwind’s tremendous gestures, we would gladly attend these talks on Westwind’s forums, which have been the home of Equilism for so long.
The nature of diplomacy revolves around give and take. We are more than prepared to enter into full and frank negotiations with West’s government, with the end of restoring unity to the region which we all love. Let us be very clear: while we will never negotiate freedom, we will always be free to negotiate. It is time to put this ugly chapter behind us all.

There have been some changes in the cabinet. Equalist Communist and FarmerLaborers have both stepped down from their positions. Replacing Equalist Communist as the Minister of the Interior is Wagger-Tribe, and Conjoined Korea is replacing FarmerLaborers as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. We wish to thank Equalist Communist and FarmerLaborers for their time in office, as well as welcome Wagger-Tribe and Conjoined Korea. Best of luck to you all.

Military
The E-Army now has ribbons and badges for its members. Comments were sought out, but the recipients of the ribbons and badges were too busy polishing or strategically placing their merits for greatest visibility.

In the Bar, Naivetry bought drinks for everyone, which was much appreciated. The Lokian Alliance could be seen staggering out at 2AM and when asked, he had this to say: “Me likesh Nai *hic* Ish a gurt pershun.”
