Quick question - is it at all possible for a non-TNP member to pledge the oath and attain a position in the Regional Assembly? I'm guessing not - though I would very much like to participate in TNP affairs, even though I'm committed to remaining in other region.

Joshua jumped the gun here, as this was his office's responsiblity under the old Constitution. Under the new one, the responsiblity falls to the RA itself, which has legislation pending concerning the process.

I've suggested that Speaker Grosseschnauser take responsiblity in the meantime to inform the applicants of what is going on, if not to process the applicants himself as seems appropriate.
 
A vote has opened in the Regional Assembly on a new law for Regional Assembly membership and registration. Assuming that proposed law is enacted, then we will be in a position to re-start acceptance of applications to join the RA based upon that law.)

Mesian, your interest is noted, but the Speaker's office is in the process of preparing the implementation of the new RA registration and membership Law.

The oath prescribed by prior law aren't valid under the new Law (there are changes, so everyoneone will be required to post the new oath;

When the new system goes live, this thread will be closed. I hope to be able to send an email to all forum members who have RA maskings or permissions, and I may possibly permit oaths by personal message. I have to review how this could be permitted since forum policies prohibit the public posting of personal messages without the sender's consent.
 
Oaths by pm seems a bit odd.

If someone can get on the forum to send a pm, they certainly can post the Oath in a thread.
 
Prior practice has been that RA members could send TNP and UN nation changes in where they were NPA or NPIA , or at other times, to avoid ejection/banning by a rogue delegate.

My thinking is that all of those with RA masks are going to need to be sent a PM to let them know what's going on, and I'm trying to simplify things as best I can.

If I do it, I would be copying and pasting the oaths that are send back by reply into the appropriate thread. But I'm not 100 per cent certain that I can accurately identify all of those with RA permissions without possibility having to check all 991 forum user accounts.

I'm in the middle of completing the preparations of the process. All users who currently have RA permissions have to be notified, and a large portion of those are in user groups other than the RA user group. I also have to update the opening post in this thread to use with a new thread. All users who are in this thread awaiting action will also be notified by PM as to the updated oath and procedure.
 
I expect to open the new procedures and threads within 48 hours. Accordingly, I am going to lock this thread at this time as part of the transition to the new procedures recently enacted by the Regional Assembly.

All pending applicants will be sent a personal message containing the new oath that is now required, and instructions to complete the process.
