My Resignation from TNP government!!

I hereby resign as Minister of Immigration and Internal affairs effective immediately!!

Over the past few weeks I have realised that I no longer wish to be part of this government for a couple of reasons!!

The first is that since taking over the role of MoIIA I have been harrassed by private message by a certain member of the government badgering me to do this and that!! No problem ordinarily, but the tone of the PMs and the fact they were sent numerous times when it was obvious I had not logged on since the first message was sent says to me that perhaps it is best I step down!! I know what needs to be done, but my RL take preference and my RL has been quite busy!! and before you say anything, my activity on that other game has also suffered!! To that person, the least I can do is nothing, not what I was going to do in the MoIIA!!

Secondly, I also received communications from another government member questioning my loyalty in the conflict with the Lexicon and telling me that impeachment was ready to go pending my decision!! I have never been part of the Lexicon!! I will not be part of the Lexicon in the foreseeable future!! I get along well with Cathyy and with IP most of the time but I would have thought my activity here over the past year would have shown my commitment was here!! Obviously, that is not the view of the people calling the shots here!! So, let me save you the trouble and step aside from the government so you can put someone else in more to your liking!!

I am not leaving TNP, just my position in Cabinet!! I wish to remain as part of the RA!!

A pity, Polts. Not that you're resigning (although it is, as well), but that an elected official would comport themselves in such a fashion. Any clues on who we should NOT vote for this time?

Glad to see you're staying about, though. I would hate to make Heft have to start doppelpunktieren.

And Polts wasn't elected in, Harm was. They switched deputy and minister positions, basically.

Well well, we do seem to be going through MoIIA's fast this term.

Sorry you feel as you do. I never thought you to be so sensitive to the tone of messages sent to you, but there is a message to all of us to be mindful of possible RL concerns before we send sharp PMs.

Hope fully stepping down now will give you the time to devote to RL concerns that they deserve. Good luck.

Edit: And I think there are few here now who regard your previous association with IP and Cathyy as a present threat. As you say, a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then.

Flem, I wasn't offended in anyway and I'm far from sensitive as you know!! The PMs just pushed me towards resigning!! I can't post what it really wanted me to say on the forum without a spanking from Hersfold!! Something along the lines of moving elsewhere and copulating with oneself!! If I can't be away from the forum for more than 24 hours without 2 or 3 PMs from the certain government member questioning my abilities then it is not worth my effort carrying on in the role!!

As for my past with Cathyy and IP, I think you'll find more people than you think see it as a threat!! The fact that impeachment was prepared in lieu of my response goes some way to showing that!!

Anyway, it is said and done now!! I'll just be a semi-active RA member from now on!!
 
Who was it? We certainly don't want to vote for them again. And I want to publicly ridicule them too. It will make me feel better.
 
Hersfold probably, I sent him one(or possibly 2) too, from what I remember. I'm sorry if you feel mad with my badgering Polts, it's just that applications are being flooded and I felt I shouldn't step on your toes. I'm sure there weren't any harassments with my messages though, and if I remember correctly, I even send them with a few smileys such as :) and ^_^

No one here has to put up with messages of that nature. It doesn't matter if you're thick-skinned and can "take it" or not. Don't do it!

Among actions you can take if something like this happens:

1. Reply that you will block PMs from the sender. Then follow through and do it.

2. Report the offending party to Moderation.

3. Expose the individual publicly.

Never ever let abusive messages slide. There is no place for that here.

Polts, as Flem can testify (can he ever!) , I admire your loyalty and dedication to the region. Thanks for your service, and I know that you have a full plate over in that "other game."
 
It wasn't Hersfold, I just want to make that clear!! It wasn't you either, NH, so don't worry!! ;)

I'm not going to name them, no point really!! The messages were semi-abusive, more harrassment than abuse!! Unless harrassment is a form of abuse...meh... :huh:

I see TNP has enough on its plate right now, so no need for any witch hunts or similar!! I bear no grudges about it, just some people obviously take this game far more seriously than others!! Each to their own, we all have the choice to continue or step aside and I think I made the correct decision!!
