Dont Pick it up for MoC

Hello all Again.

This time I am here to ask you to lend me your vote for MoC. The Current MoC, JAL I believe has done a pretty good job. It is sad to see Grenval not fill out his term, but as The North Pacific being the only region I am members of I have all my time to commit to The North Pacific. And promise to fill out my term to the fullest, and maintain activity during my term.

The improvements I wish to make to Communications, is an attempt to get more reporters to get more articles. The satires by Flem, bring a big amount into our News Wire. If we could get more reporters to report things they enjoy to report it would make our news more enjoyable and hopefully would encourage more reporters write articles. For example if a member of the NPA would report, on NPA affairs, or someone who follows the UN resolutions could report each one. Finally, the last thing I really want to bring to our news is interviews. It could be done for people, inside The North Pacific and outside of it. We could better know a person, or an ex-delegate of The North Pacific, or even a region.

If I get more ideas, I will add them. I welcome comments, suggestions, and questions.

Thanks for your time,
And remember a vote for Don’t Pick it up will pick up our communications!

Interviews are great for the Wire. When I was MoC&E, I did interviews for the candidates who were running for office. The Wire is a big part of the region's communications and I'm glad you are excited about adding more articles to it!

Thanks for the input Ator People, I am glad to hear that the interviews worked well. I think they would contribute greatly to our wire.

Now I was looking for more types of articles last night when i came upon more that would be great for our news wire.

First, Essays would be a great addition to our wire. The main reason is that if people only want to contribute once, this is an easy place to get started. The reason I think Essays belong in our wire, is because someone NS philosophy would be interesting to read. Of course Essays not all essays submitted would get posted, to keep the wire quality but I think the Essays have some good promise!

It was hard to think of things for my next topic but I think reviews would be a nice addition to the wire. A nice start would be a review of all the blogs in The North Pacific. Another thing is we could have a reporter spend a week in a region they have no affiliation with and rate the region so to speak.

A How to do guide is another thing that may be good for a few articles in the wire. Ever wonder how to make a nation in the top 10 in UN rankings, is the only topic I could think of when I was writing this.

And finally Letter to the MoC, do you have an opinion on an article that you would like published? All you would have to do is PM it to the MoC and if it is appropriate it will be added in a periodic Letter to the Editor.

Now, I have an abundance of Ideas that involves reporters, something we have a lack of at the moment. I will do my very best to recruit reporters I think, the new types of articles might contribute to reporter numbers because they may be more interested in doing an essay or working on a how to do guide with something they are interested in. The best way to get the most out of Nation States is to have fun while getting the job done, and that’s what I hope to do with our wire if I make MoC.

Thank you for your time,
DPIU

IMO, this would be a great appointment. DPIU is just the kind of guy we need in order to increase participation in the regional news service.

@North Harmoneia: I do not have one on hand, but I will write a sample if you want me to :).

@OPA: Thank you for your kind words of support.

The one thing that is important to me for the news is regional involvement, and is a key stepping stone to getting better quality news service. One person and his/hers deputy can only write so many articles, but add even 3 reporters, and new types of articles to be written, and a better quality news service.

Thanks for the question. :)

1. While there is no doubt she is committed to The North Pacific. The TNP is not he Top Priority, as she said in her campaign speech
I cannot say that TNP is my top priority
I would vote for someone who's first priority is The North Pacific, such as myself, who is only a TNPer

2. Next, she plans to keep up with the status quo, of letting reporters get assigned topics. Well in this last term, Flem is the only person besides the MoC who wrote any article. This system is failing, and I think it is time for a change. In NS it is impossible to order people to do things, that’s why you have to let people enjoy what they are doing. My system will hopefully allow people to have fun writing the articles.

3. Yes, I am a newer member of the North, but I have many ideas for the position of MoC, maybe all are not perfect, but they are better to have a surplus and see what works out in office, but I feel there should be a change in the wire, one that NH will not provide. My approach will hopefully, lead to regional participation, better articles, more diverse articles, and more articles. All of which will lead to a better news wire, not more of the same.

once again thanks for your question, I hope I answered it to your liking

Vote Pick for a Better TNP News Wire.

Any other question?

What, in your opinion, are the pros and cons of the use of satire in news articles? Do you see satirical articles as necessary?

What, in your opinion, is the proper role of humor in journalism?

NH im sorry if I offended you

Fed:

The Pros in using satire in news articles is that it makes the wire more entertaining, and encourages people to get involved and find out whats going on to understand the satire.

The Cons, is some people may be offended, and as long as their is a disclaimer as their is in Flem's articles, I think satire is fine. Also any satire that is "just mean" is not worthy of being posted but I have seen none so far.

My oppinion in humor is journalism, is that it is a vital part in our wire. Just as we have articles that are pure facts, we have articles for our enjoyment. As long as we dont flat out lie, or write anything with a clear evil intention. Also mixing humor and a serious article is a risk, and should not be done unless it is an opening or a closing line, IMO. To sum up what I think of satire and humor in the wire is that it has a very important place, as long as we have serious articles that it goes with them.

thanks for the questions Fed

and once again NH im very sorry if I offended you

Please people ask more questions, and thoes who have asked questions I thank you for them
