Statement on Forum Crashing

Hersfold

TNPer
The North Pacific Government would like to express their apologies for the delay in making this statement. Real Life issues have caused our government to function a little slower than usual at late. The Cabinet would like to issue the following statement concerning the recent "forum crashing" that has taken place.

The North Pacific is shocked and disgusted at the recent act of forum vandalism. We do not feel that it is a legitimate battle tactic that has a place in the game of Nationstates, but rather a personal, out of character tactic used out of spite and hatred. We will remain steadfast against forum destruction, no matter who the aggressor or the victim.

Due to the history of forum troubles The North Pacific has had, we sympathize with the victims of this forum raid and others that have taken place. Let it be known that should this tactic continue, the perpertrator(s) will be considered a persona non grata in the region of The North Pacific, and as such will never be welcome in our forums or region for the crimes they have committed against the soverignty and freedom of others.

If anyone has any questions concerning this statement, please feel free to contact me, although be aware it may be some time until you get a response. Thank you for your understanding.

The United Federation of Hersfold
Prime Minister of The North Pacific

When will the government be issuing a statement concerning the publication of IP addresses of some of those involved in this matter?

Such act is clearly in breach of forum rules laid down by Invisionfree and is regarded by them as an unauthorised invasion of someone's privacy.

Such an act can clearly never be regarded as 'in game'.

I look forward to a government statement on this matter.

Ummm... not to be rude or anything, but did you bother to read some of the replies you got in the Meritocracy Cathyy? RIA *isn't* on IF. They're proboards.

So... how about the rule from proboards on that?

Im very pleased with this, it gets the point across, but yet is not to extream. Tho a bit later then it should of been, a very fine responce.

good work Cabinet

Not wishing to be rude either FEC but I anticipated that someone would make the point you are making.

I'm well aware that the forum concerned is located on a different forum.

However, TNP is on IF and as such I would guess that's the general standards that we would assume we and others would adhere to, regardless of the specifics of forum rules.

Some things really ought not to need a specific rule to be regarded as wrong.

You could equally argue that (and I haven't confirmed it) that I doubt Proboards forbid the deletion of parts of a forum by those allowed into Admin.

So, clearly TNP's government is quite happy to condemn something not just because it's a breach of an explicit forum rule.

Either you believe the posting of private personal information is wrong or you don't.

I would like to see TNP's government respod to that issue, especially as it is so closely linked to the situation they've already posted an opinion about.
