Wanted to introduce myself

TNP Membership Request is sent in and I am waiting to hear if My nation will be accepted. My nation is already a member of the UN.

My nation URL: www.NationStates.net/defaulting_property

You can call me NOD or the long version Notice Of Defaults. My nation motto is Buy Low Sell High. I picked the Rhino as the nation animal for it's strength. I am trying to sybolize the strength of non profits and the way they function with real estate and defaulting property.

It's a long story. I devoted over 5 years of study to figure things out about foreclosures and actually own my own domain name NoticeOfDefaults.com The website helped me and it let others watch as I grew in knowledge and made information available to others.

I can see where I might start it up again for the purpose of this game and the nation I created, once I can figure out how this game really works.

I can see where maybe I can create a role playing game at noticeofdefaults.com that would help educate others by allowing them to work towards becoming their own land barron.

I am interested in learning more about making a UN proposal. I want to propose a civil rights issue, to give power to the people. They would decide for themselves to stay or sell their own properties that are in default. I have noticed where some nations tax 80-100% and the government takes all. My proposal would allow the public to fight back against their governement to maybe lower taxes.

Does this make sence and can anyone tell me if my thinking is correct when trying to take in account the guidelines/laws for a proposal when it comes to making a broad sweeping change world wide. I don't want to force anything on other nations I am just wondering if I am really suppose to play my nation to this thinking to see if it beats others, by making deceisions like the above for myself, or if I can change the world this way too.

Thanks for the time.

Hey NOD, the actual game itself doesn't pay much attention to what the tax rate is, for instance, there's no public discontent factor to worry about. My nation's been ruled by biker gangs while still having one of the largest economies in the region.

I do think it would be interesting to have someone submit a "homeowner's bill of rights" (or something more pointed) to the UN and see what kind of discussion it generates.

A homeowner bill of rights would be cool.

I just sent you an email. If you are unable to help me draft the proposal just post my outline in this forum section and maybe others can help get the draft right.

Thanks for the info on the tax's in the game.

You know what I would really like? I would like to see this game give us a second method of play within the game that involves giving everyone the ability to purchase ficticious property from each other. Here's the twist though, each property would have not only a purchase price, it would also have ...

provide a rental income on a daily basis.
have a preset resell value in case homeowner wants to resell.
have a preset default value homeowners would have to pay as acts of god happen.
have a preset short sale value less then original purchase price but higher then default value.

In this second game everyone acts not only as investors, we also would act as mother/father nature and try to impose hardships on other homeowners. The purpose would be so that the investor in you might be able to purchase someone elses property who is in a hardship situation yet can not pay the default value amount to get out of the hardship.

If a homeowner is in a hardship and can not pay the preset default value, the home goes to sherrif sale and the preset short sale value is the starting bid amount for the property.

There's more to the game. I own a domain name and am trying to get this game into reality on my domain, but if I can get iut to work here first that would be really cool.

WHat do you think?
