The Mod Act

Huh, I've been reading "Mod Act" and thinking Vaudeville for all this time.

Yet I concede that there is a case (even in my own case) for possibly banning an IP address linked to another player if it is for the greater good.

That could be written into this proposal too.

So how many different permutations of how many different ways should we take into account? I don't think anyone has mentioned that the role of Mod/Admin is essentially an Executive one and any 'you can only do this' legislation will miss some facet of humanity and be a pain.

I have some amount of faith in the people here to know shitty moderation when they see it. If not, I'm not sure why anyone in particular would stick around. There are few enough people who come through here that it's easiest to make most decisions on a consensus basis with a little direct democracy thrown in. If you have a problem with an official's actions you have the right to open a public thread and say "I have problems X,Y and Z with A's public actions."

If you're still that unsatisfied, then you should be able to actually call a vote of no confidence. If it doesn't get enough votes/interest though, you should wonder if you were wrong the entire time and quite possibly acting like a jerk to a real person behind a computer screen.

Forum administration should be kept completely separate from the regional government.

The only possible connection, in my opinion, would be automatically granting the Delegate an admin account.
