In Lazarus we have quite a few methods in fighting AdSpam and as a feeder we are a region much like The North Pacific. We are curious as to the full understanding of your prevention methods and would like the time to explain PLEA.

Yes, that's fine. We'll use this thread for an RMB archive. But we need to standardize our posts. My plan in one second, but first:
I would've suggested moving it to a new thread just to have an appropriate title, but instead it can be an acronym.
"Government plea" can stand for "Policing Lazarus to Eliminate Adspam"! Cool, huh?
Proposal for standard message format:
Make the Police all mods to this topic if that's possible, so we can add pieces all onto one message.
That'll make it easier to tell what happened when.
Start one post for each day, @ a set time. When adding content, don't repeat parts that were already posted.
Change the "hours ago" into an actual time of day.
Put something in the WFE specifically stating our stance on ads, placing strict length limits if that's allowed
Impose length limits even if we can't enforce them.

PLEA was an idea presented by one of our members. PLEA is the best way we have to handle AdSpam other than our no AdSpam letter that goes out every now and then:

Dear recruiter,

Over the past few weeks we have monitored the effectiveness of recruiters in the Lazarus region, and have found that less than 1% of all ads posted in Lazarus receive any response. The nature of Lazarus, being a place for renewal, not new or rejected nations, makes it a place where nations typically already know where they're going. Thus, in our attempts to build a cohesive region in Lazarus, as well as the ineffectivenss of ads in Lazarus, we'd appreciate it if you would be so kind as to restrict your recruiting runs in our region. We know we have no way to actually stop it, but hopefully you will see that the ads only succeed in getting in the way of our regional rebuilding, while barely fulfilling their primary intent.

Lazarus is a region that is interested in preventing AdSpam within and in the other feeder regions as a whole. AdSpam is a very negative side effect of the feeder experience. I look forward to hearing from this region and I am always open to new ideas.

(PS, do you know anything about the system used in The Exodus?)
 
I've been tinkering with a idea to have a "Processesed Meat Council" to do nothing but put TNP content on the RMB. Posed it today. Hopefully I'll get some help...

Sometimes we try to have off-topic conversations on the RMB, it is much better than spam in my opinion.
