ATTN: DC Members

I'm putting together the NP regional update within the next few days. If anyone has anything they wish to contribute, post it here or give me a PM.

(I'll be putting my own stuff here too for my reference as soon as my brain isn't a mass of useless goo.)

You can feel free to use my version, or parts of it, put out by the MoC office. I'll have this weeks done in a couple minutes

Foreign affairs side of thing; we have the statement on TWP which is going to be released:

"The North Pacific believes in democracy, but supports the establishment of a popular government whatever form it may take, as long as it rules with the support and consent of the people of the region. We hope that the Delegate of The West Pacific will not take to ejecting nations without recourse to due process and only when the prove a threat to the security and stability of the region.

We hope that a compromise, suitable and acceptable to both sides of this conflict, is reached amicably and can be implemented to solve the internal disputes and restore The West Pacific to its rightful place within the world as a powerful and united region."

We also have the re-negotiation of the LionStar Pact under way, although there isn't much that can be said other than the fact its happening. Oh, and hopefully we'll be signing the Invader/Defender Convention thingy as well which would probably be worth a mention.

Has a new update been released yet? Sorry, I haven't been round recently.

If not, and not really related to the DC, I quite like the Canada regional reports, that include quotes from the past weeks of posting. Adds a sense of the flavour of the region in my mind...

Yes, yes it would, but the term I would use to describe my current situation is 'knee-deep in snow right now'. And that's from the cut-and-dubbed version.

That, and I'm off track with current events here. I'd also appreciate if someone a bit more experienced would help me work on it, at least the first time. I don't like being halfway sure what I'm doing.

Yup, I'd suggest that Ator's format for the MoC updates is really very good, so I think we should steal that at the very least. I don't know what other people think but I'd be tempted to leave out the names of everyone in the government (unless they change) rather than have it in every update we post.

Yeah, I would agree on the ministers side, especially in respects to the security council. I'd also agree to stealing Ator's format as well. :shifty:

As to everything else:

Recent Events - Can be a little tricky if its a slow couple of weeks. Personally I'd say the ongoing Olympics discussion, the TNP Stock Market could go here. Possibly the Invader/Defender convention discussion as well (although I'm kind of 50/50 on including that). I think UN votes would also belong here. Also foreign affairs (almost forgot those :duh:), so anything we do (couple of new consulates if I'm not mistaken), as well as any news from the MoD.

Regional Assembly - Unless something importants going on, I don't see the problem with just taking the 4 most recent priliminary discussions/votes and placing them here. Assuming we're never going to have a 'Should we invade the feeders?' topic on going, I would just cut and paste them. Ones of note currently are the 'Colonisation and Annexing' proposal, Grosse's tidy up amendments, and the definition of treason one. The RA merger vote has concluded since our last update as well, so thats an important vote to mention.

OOC Thread - I wouldn't put anymore work in that than virtually picking three at random and putting them in. Deal or No Deal seems to be hot at the moment, Where am I? is always a favourite, and any of the 'I am', 'I Just', 'Pet Peeves' etc. are always good. Occasionally a seasonal or short term thread will turn up thats good forom a variety point of view.

Hope thats helpful. Hope that made sense.

If we can all get into the habit of posting reminders here when we see topics of interest, or when vote results are made, we should be able to cut most of the hard work out of this update process. I think.

I've hit at it three or four times this week and have failed to produce something I'm comfortable with. Gomen ne. I'm working on it right now.

Meterological Co-Operation (Passed (4/1))

UN Demining Survey (Currently at vote)

Perhaps add something about the Proposed Constitutional Amendment...but then again thats rather bland....what do we usually put in the regional reports anyways? :eyebrow:

  • Right, its looking good. If we can get some military stuff please Dalimbar that would be very helpful, the OOC section can be added to and anything else anyone thinks should be added. Hopefully we can get this finished so it can be sent out on Saturday.

Arigato on the polish sir. And many apologies for the delay in the first place. Hopefully future editions will go far more smoothly.

[edit - I farted on the smoothly. ]

The vote finishes today, so we can add that to the update. Hopefully Dalimbar will give us some details for what to put in the military section.

I don't spend much time in the OOC so if someone could also provide a few ideas for what to put there it would be handy.

Right, I don't think we're going to get any more... Unless anyone has anything to add (or to point out my poor grammar) then this can go out in our embassies tomorrow.
