Hey there,
I'm well known for being a bit thick, but there are student elections going on at my University college right now, and I don't understand how the votes are being tallied. Can anyone help? What I'm wondering about is this:
Candidate 1 got 165 votes, Candidate 2 got 167, Re-Open Nominations got 5. The electable average was 168.5
Votes from Reopen nominations were eliminated and their votes transferred (which I disagree with anyway but still)
Transferring votes at a value of 1 from Reopen Nominations
Which gives:!
Candidate 1 = 165
Candidate 2 = 169
Candidate 2 is elected as Electable average was 167. Also, apparently, there were 337 active votes in the first round and 334 in the second.
Can anyone understand this or have they fiddled it? I wouldn't be surprised as the person who won does Maths and is an abject bitch (I lived next door to her last year).
