Support Islandwalk for Secretariat. If you want The North Pacific to have an even more significant voice in the World Assembly, you should upvote the dispatch and vote for Islandwalk when the time comes.
This resolution is problematic -- not only do they bafflingly define tea and coffee as a recreational drug (and scientifically its not in the same category as other, "standard" recreational drugs), but it also seems to add more bureaucracy on drug issues.
For me, it is ironic that a...
Firstly, excuse my posting in the Cabinet Meeting Room, but the following proposal hasn't seen any comments for a few days and I believe it should be passed on to the Cabinet for approval.
This is a proposal originally written by myself, changing the Constitution so that any given...
I think people would have a lot of fun with it..
And I think it was successful in spite of the minor errors, which you have to expect. If anything, that means the next host won't have to worry about being absolutely perfect.
Sirixis, I was not pointing out anyone in particular, but merely pointing out that there is a tendency for this to happen on issues such as this one.
I'm not offended, merely frustrated that legitimate efforts to increase participation (which is in fact supported by some others that posted...
To IG and all other members of the A&E Treehouse (of Horror!) --
On the heels of the very successful 1st TNP Winter Games hosted by Hersfold, I was thinking that it might be a good idea to establish a TNP Games as a regular occurrence. Not only did all of us have fun, but it would be a...
That's good, but I still invite those who believe participation is an issue to offer alternatives to a reward system if they do not like it.
What really annoys me is when members who normally do not participate (and I agree that is their perogative; that is why I've been against mandatory...
Dont worry about it, Hers..
Nations have home-ice advantage in real life too.
Speaking of which, I was thinking about the TNP Olympic Games concept the other night, and I think we should have it more often than its RL parallel. 4 years is an eternity on a forum where 3 months is one Cabinet...
As of this moment, I have sent the proposal to Flem for Cabinet consideration.
As a reminder, they have 15 days to vote on it before it comes back here.
Nam's proposal may have some merit, but I doubt it would appeal to the people advocating for a plurality system -- after all, it's even more complicated.
I could not disagree more.
Firstly, on how much "meaning" a vote has. In the last election cycle, one additional vote for certain candidates would essentially place them in office. Under a plurality system, an additional vote for those candidates would NOT change the outcome.
Secondly, I find...
I'd like to respond to this sentiment. Keep in mind that I specifically stated in my original posts that I found the subject of rewards in the RA to be distasteful. Having said that, I threw out some ideas just to have an open debate on the issue. I wonder if a clique-filled old boys club would...
I would be averse to something like this.
Mr Gaunt's example is a good one in terms of illustrating why I continue to favor the majority system to be in place for elections. After all, the fortunate thing (in my mind) is that democracies are neither simple nor swift. A plurality vote may be...
Woohoo! The people of Kaleaf are greatly excited over Sam Elard's fantastic handling of the mountain yesterday and hope that the qualifying finish will portend great things tomorrow.
Oh right. I forgot about Ator's roll :P .
Alright, Ator, you get another roll before the next turn...
You roll a 6 and land on Vermont Ave.. You have TNP$1600 and the cost to buy is $100.
No no, I forgot to mention no one rolled doubles.
If you do, I will of course tell you and you will get your rolls at that time of course.
GBM now has St. Charles and now has TNP$1360.
AI still has to decide on Oriental Ave.
That's fine.. The Virginia Ave spot it is.. Hm.. Fuschia is a good description.. I usually call it "the other purple spots".
Based on random selection, the turn order will be:
GBM, AI, and Ator.
On the first cycle:
GBM rolls 11 (landing on St. Charles Ave.). You have TNP$1500 and the cost...
Woot..
If GBM isn't here, then I'll probably notify Byard and Hers.
I'll also put your guys' spaces on the board, so at least you'll have your own space in the color you requested (even though the other ones will be normal Monopoly spaces).
So since the TNP-naming of our board is going a little slowly, I thought I wouldn't keep you guys waiting.
Ator, GBM, and AI.. if you're here and sitll want to play, sign in :P
The question is will this body be unbiased.
I don't want to give control of an award system to any committee that is going to use it to promote views that they like. That is, I don't want people to say: "this post deserves an award" purely because the views espoused in it happen to be the same...
This may be a commendable idea, but it's somewhat dangerous.
We don't want to make judgments on specific posts (whether the content qualifies as good).
Verified spaces on the board now include (updated as we go along):
Hersfold Avenue, Apollo Avenue
Puckton Place, Byardwalk
Ator Avenue, (on board, color to be determined).
Ykno that's a good idea..
Anyone who wants to submit a name, either do it via PM or in this thread. I'll set the price at $1000, or free if there are nations that are poorer than $1000.
When you post/submit your name, indicate if the $1000 price is OK.
You can submit one name for any of the...
