Exactly what I had in mind, and if you look we already have this system — to a degree, anyway:
The Diplomatic Corps (Ministry of External Affairs)
The Commrangers (Ministry of Communications)
The North Pacific Army (Ministry of Defence/Armed Forces)
If we can expand these a bit, and delegate...
When did I ever suggest closing borders? I suggested that the UK was not in a position to accept all comers and a system of limitations was necessary. There's a talk of a points-based system for work visas and I think that's a great idea.
Our own = British Citizens. Our government's first duty...
tl;dr summary: Immigration is good, if the host country can support it. Quick floods like the Polish immigration is bad. UK needs to have a limit on immigrants and if there could be a similar flood from Turkey then I would not be happy with their membership until a system to protect the UK's...
I have two issues with Turkey joining:
a) Immigration. Would we see large numbers of immigrants coming from Turkey to the west such as when Poland joined the EU? I have no problem with skilled workers moving to Britain, but I believe that we can't take another deluge of unskilled workers and I...
Most of the Scottish people I've discussed this with are firmly against the breaking of the union.
In fact, the people who seem to be most in favour of it are Americans with supposed Scottish heritage. Braveheart gave a lot of people the wrong idea, it seems.
Depends. My system provides the opportunity for members to prove themselves in other roles in the Ministries. People wouldn't be appointed to run Ministries if they suck at it. If the same people get appointed, then it should be because they are capable at their jobs, rather than popular. Also...
Wouldn't be too much of a step to make the judiciary independent of cabinet. Let the judges pick themselves and let the RA decide in an election. I hardly see how an appointed cabinet could affect that.
:) Thanks for your comments.
Then we change that system before we implement the new one. What part of that do you not understand?
In fact, if the RA are so weak then it is a fault of the current system. Don't tell me that this idea is useless because the RA are currently 'whimperers', that's a lazy attitude.
You've...
I'm sorry you wouldn't consider my counter-offer.
Under your proposal, you would not be a consultant, because you're not consulting us; you'd be taking the system out of our hands and replacing it with a nice big bit of Pacifica. You say this is not about politics, but it is: everything is...
Moo, how about we hire your man as a consultant, and then maybe we can speak again about some sort of economic treaty? Perhaps once our economy is back to a reasonable level, we can revisit the ideas of mergers/buy-outs.
Given the current political circumstances, I'm sure you can understand why...
Why would it? Could you elucidate for those of us who don't follow you?
Also, hypothetically speaking, what sorts of regulations would need to be in place before you would be happy with such a proposal?
It seems both our Minister and Deputy are having problems getting on the forums recently, but that's no reason why the Diplomatic Corps have to stop functioning.
So, does anyone fancy writing the latest update, or shall I volunteer myself? I'm sure we can get another cabinet minister to look it...
Agreed, Minister.
We don't benefit from this relationship with them at the minute, and the attitude of the lower ranking members on our forums irks me. Perhaps it would be better to cut them lose and look at relations when things are a little less hostile.
How about this:
1) Apologise, briefly.
2) Close our Embassies
3) Make the following people personae non gratae: New Kackface (or whatever) & Agamemnon
4) Profit.
We're not going to win against this whining little kids, so we should just stop trying. After thinking about it, I can't imagine...
Actually, my idea was presented to the council and various other people. I also spoke to you instead of Moo, because a) the closing of embassies seemed to be your suggestion and b) from my experience of the NPO, the senate are the Emperor's trusted advisors — mea maxima culpa, if that is not the...
