Kujico Incorporated
クジコ株式会社

Kujico (kr. クジコ, formerly Kuji Food and Drink Company) is a multinational food conglomerate headquartered in Himeji City, Kyowara. Renowned for its diverse portfolio of beverages and snack foods, Kujico has established a significant presence both domestically and internationally. The company is recognised for its adherence to quality and its historical roots in traditional Kyonese craftsmanship.

Kujico was originally founded in 1947 by Ryunosuke Kujiwara in Matsue City as a modest soda shop. In 1956, the company expanded operations to produce bottled sodas for local retailers, marking the beginning of its industrial journey. Its flagship product, KujiCola—a caramel-based soda infused with notes of ginger—was introduced during this period and rapidly gained popularity throughout the region. By 1960, Kujico had scaled operations to achieve national distribution across Kyowara and began exporting to international markets. This marked a pivotal moment in the company’s transformation from a regional producer to a global competitor in the food and beverage sector.

In 1974, Kujico acquired Narita Foods, a well-established crisp manufacturer. This strategic acquisition expanded Kujico’s product offerings to include popular potato crisp brands such as Kato’s, Sozui, and Akanashi, as well as corn-based crisp lines Fajitas and Sharaku. The integration of Narita Foods solidified Kujico’s position in the snack food industry and diversified its consumer base.

Today, Kujico owns and manages 57 brands worldwide, spanning multiple food and beverage categories. Its product range includes soft drinks, energy beverages, alcoholic drinks (including beer), crisps, and various snacks. The company continues to expand its global footprint while maintaining a commitment to its heritage and core values of quality, consistency, and innovation grounded in tradition. As of the most recent valuation, Kujico is estimated to be worth $199.94 billion (₩28.357 trillion). The company maintains a robust market presence and is considered a dominant player within the international food and beverage industry.
