Hope I'm doing this right! Please don't hurt me!

Tonight, January 24th. We will be listening to Opeth (progressive metal), particularly the former half of Ghost Reveries.
This is a strong album. Not my favorite Opeth album per se (Blackwater Park, 2001), however, it still holds up 20 years later. Ghost of Perdition remains as one of my all-time favorite songs. It is abrupt, melodic, and ultimately beautiful; serving as a microcosm for the entire album. This is definitely worth a listen! :D

Today, January 25th. We will be listening to Blood Incantation (progressive death metal), particularly Timewave Zero. :notalk:
This album is entirely instrumental and remains the only album in the discography to be labeled as such. Split into two halves of four songs each, Io and Ea, this album feels like you're going on a space adventure, or, returning to zero. As such, it encourages deeper reflection into oneself and into the world around them as you listen on.
Who are we?
WHAT are we?
Why are we, we?
What matters?
What is even REAL?
Is science really even TRUE to the universe?
What is the universe?
These are some questions I often ponder about whenever listening to this album. I wish I could tell you my answers after listening, but I couldn't. Perhaps they were lost in the stargate (Absolute Elsewhere, 2024)! The band did a wonderful job of using music to pull its listeners, like me, in. And not to mention, this also makes for good background music to get work done or sleep!

Today, January 26th. We will be listening to Hyperion (melodic black/death metal), and their only album, Seraphical Euphony. :band:
This album means a lot to me. As the album's name implies, it's a pleasure to listen to (seraphical- angelic ... euphony- pleasing to the ears). Without a doubt, this is the most beautiful-sounding album you will ever listen to. It's one of my favorite albums, not simply because I like how it sounds, but because the song "Blood of the Ancients" can resonate with anyone. We often suffer from loss that can cause us to lose parts of ourselves. It's vital to understand that the past is unchanging; however, it can be used to our advantage, to grow and defy what we once thought. From Gods to people, we all adapt if we choose to.

"I shall advance and bid Saturn to take his throne again!"

Something is only lost forever if the simple acknowledgement of it is lost.
