Closing Address
May 2025

Hello all!

As you've probably seen from the opening address of our re-elected Delegate @Chipoli, I have been appointed as Minister of Defense for the upcoming term, which means I'll be making way for my successor @Pallaith. The first thing I want to say is that being your Minister of Home Affairs for the last four months has been an honour. I have genuinely enjoyed my time in the position and learned a whole lot from it. Secondly, I wish @Pallaith the best of look in implementing his plans and the vision of the administration going forward under the fresh banner of the Ministry of Integration and I hope to continue helping out in whatever capacity I can. And finally, I really do feel like we've succeeded this term. Some areas of our portfolio did fall through the cracks and get picked up in other ways, but our main priorities were upheld and the figures speak for themselves.

So, let's take a look.

Manual Recruitment

By far the most successful area of our work this term has been in manual recruitment. We absolutely smashed last term's numbers by over 20,000 telegrams, sending a staggering total of 32,643 manual recruitment telegrams since January 12th. As I did in my midterm address, I must specifically shout out those who genuinely dedicated hours of their lives to the effort over the last four months, including @Petronellania (25,000+ sent), @Matzerati (almost 2500 sent), @Owenstacey (almost 2000 sent), @Comfed (600+ sent), and @Orange (500+ sent). Your contributions this term have been absolutely stellar, so thank you.

Telegram Lists

Over the course of the last four months, we have released 11 telegram lists, totalling 1356 telegrams sent. I am definitely pleased that we matched the performance of last term, but this number could definitely have been higher. It was my intention at some point to assess just how successful these telegram lists are in terms of recruitment and retention, but that is something the next leadership team could perhaps look into. Generating the lists is not an exhaustive task, but actually sending the telegrams can be, so it may be pertinent to look at recruitment rates more generally and see what the return on our investment is in this case. Regardless, I feel we have done well in this area.

Mentoring

Mentoring is a lot like the telegram lists in the sense that it is difficult to say, and has been for some time, to assess just how successful our efforts have been in terms of claiming and reaching out to new forum members. We've matched last term regarding the overall number of pings put out (7), but I do feel like figuring out how to best onboard those members and establish regular dialogues with them is going to be an ongoing challenge, no matter who is in charge. Arguably, that is more important than the raw numbers themselves, and perhaps approaching the ministry the other way was oversight on my behalf.

Resource Review

I will repeat what I said in my midterm address here, this is an area we have absolutely excelled in this term, in large part due to the relentless work of @Picairn and contributions from others, most notably @epico and @Halsoni. Outdated dispatches have been a thorn in our side for years, at least since the technological collapse, but now we're at a point where things do feel very up to date and I'm thankful for that. It is tedious and exhaustive work given the staggering number of dispatches on the regional nation, but it is definitely worth it. We have done very well in this regard.

Overall Points

The following table is a break down of all the points earned within the ministry this term, for each of the various tasks performed by each staffer. If I have missed some of your points, please reach out to me and I will update this! Monitoring everything within the ministry is a fairly large task and I can't always keep track of everything, especially within the realm of updating dispatches and resources, but for our most easily trackable areas, these are the final tallies.

A Final Word

Over the last four months, I have realised that the most important type of staffer is the person who shows up, without expecting any points or rewards, and just does what is needed. Those staffers keep the executive turning when others might feel incapable or unable to dedicate the time required to these things, but they're still so important to the growth and stability of our region. We'd be nowhere near where we are now if it were not for those people. It has been a pleasure working with the team I have had behind me and I sincerely wish @Pallaith the best of luck in running the new Ministry of Integration into a bright and exciting future!
